The Lumenier 1306 motors are all out of stock.

So far, the EMAX 1306 4000kv motors are in stock at PyroDrone.
At this point, that is all that I can find that are in stock, but these are both listed as 3-4S...
so...wonder how or if, they would work on 2S  Huh

Could you run that with Brotherhobby 1402 9400kv motors and see how it comes out ???

I have been looking at this motor for a while now as being an option  Huh

Thanks  Thumbs Up

there is no issue by use the emax rs1306b 4000kv on 2s, i did that for a try on my 4inch back than. the voltage ratings of the motors are in terms of a rotor suggestion. you can allways go up and down by the voltage if you adjust the rotor diameter.
i guess it might even work on the 2700kv motorversion 4inch and 2s for flighttimes.

another motorsize and rotor diameter, but my build was about 50g less weight, it was same flightability. kv evn doesnt help as 2s limits the upper rpm climb anyway.

I have started a new thread,  [Tutorial] How To Solder - Principles, Technics, Etc. , in an effort to help those new to soldering and to organize information that is scattered in a variety of IntoFPV threads. I have included (and will include more) YouTube videos that I think are pretty good.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<   The CHALLENGE   <-- Click Link     >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Originally, I was just listing the participants working on the Challenge  in my Quest250-LR Build thread.
However, as this thing grew, I realized that having it in my BUILD thread was just not going to work.

In addition to having more members interested, the thread will serve as a consolidated place for questions, progress, and videos of builds that successfully meet the challenge. Yeah, it definitely needed its own thread. Plus, it would be easier for others to find and easier to manage.

If anyone is interested, please send me a PM and I will add the Build to the list of Participants.

I wasn't sure where to put it, so I just picked General Topics.

Post #2 is a list of Participants...I will mark if Challenge is met.

I like the idea of a list of builds. I would help to see what other people are doing, using in the respective builds!

Hi Kevin,

Yeah, I thought so. I will update those 2 posts as I find builds or new ones are created. Check back from time to time.

Having finished my current Real Life project, I finally got a chance to take the Katana-LR4 out for a flight; nothing special, just a nice easy flight to dust off the cobwebs. She handles good and is fun to fly.

The Phantom-X had been down for upgrades, but I finally got him back together. A couple of weeks ago, I got a flight in, but it was very "bumpy"...the flight was basically unstable; a challenge to control...wobbling all over the place. So, during the last couple of weeks I have had the quad apart. Basically, I removed the 5V BEC and rewired the Camera and the GPS and got him back together. Having some time, I performed LOS test flights or rather hovers in my back yard. During these flights, I have been tinkering with the PID sliders; the quad now flies smoothly... only a slight "wobble" at launch, but then pretty smooth. Ready for a real test flight.

2021-05-07     PARTS  GUIDE  Update

It seems like new and updated components are showing up all the time.

Everything from motors and props to frames especially for the sub 250 gram category.

Hi-Lites include T-Mount props up to 7 inch and 5,6, and 8 blade props in the 2.5 to 3 inch range.

There are also a lot of variations in the 12xx to 15xx motors.

I have NOT included all offerings as there are far too many.
I do, however, include components that I use, have used, or will use; plus those that look interesting.

Anyone that is interested in things that are a little different, check out Joshua_A's DragonFlight Ornithopter MAV BUILD as something you might want to follow.

Personally, I find the Ornithopter build extremely interesting and look forward to following how it progresses.  Popcorn

Today, 2021-05-17, I have received my Ronin-MK1 frame kits from RoninUAV.

I have been impressed with the entire process; the website, the order process, tacking data, receiving the kits, and finally OPENING the packages and finding an EXQUISITE product. So much so, that I can't wait to get the craft, the Ronin-MK1 ONE, put together and in the air.

This build now supersedes my other builds. I have all of the components so I can begin work on the build tomorrow.

Update on the Quest250-LR...I am still working on fabricating the frame. It is going a little slower than I had planned, but getting there.

Well, the Ronin-MK1 ONE is complete and the Maiden flight was very good; 15:33 minutes on GNB 3S 1100 mAh battery.

Now, I will focus on final fabrication of a frame for the Quest250-LR and work on getting that build completed and start testing.

Onward and Upward....  High Five

The Quest250-LR frame is finally finished. Now, the actual build begins...

Since some of my "life" projects are in a holding pattern, I am expecting to get the build completed in about a week. Yeah, I know, I am a little slow, but I like to just take my time...I work on it for a while, then put it down {take a break}, then come back to it.

Also, I think I will create an account on AirVuz and see how that goes. If I like it, I will use that platform for my future videos rather than YouTube. So, we will see how that goes as well. I haven't posted a flight video for a while so I need to get going on that, too.

New thread...[Discussion]  UNIVERSAL Flight Controller Mounting Format  >  Last Post

From observing the trends in the FPV hobby, I have thought {for some time now} that the 26x26 {nominal} diagonally oriented whoop mounting format is pretty much a universal format in that it will fit essentially any frame; even those not specifically having a whoop mounting pattern since an adapter is easy to fabricate {small piece of material with 8 holes, 4 for the whoop and 4 for the frame}.

What makes these whoop format boards intriguing is that they can be used in basically any frame from a 75mm and larger whoop frame to any larger, open prop, frame. Oh yeah, and the Nano Long Range frames.

As improvements continue to be made in the whoop format AIO boards, this format is now suitable for a wide range of quad sizes; particularly the sub 250 gram category which is normally a 5 inch quad or smaller. Plus, more and more frames are supporting the whoop FC mounting. Truth is, a whoop format board will work on pretty much any frame; by definition that is universal.

The question is...boards in the whoop format have enough capacity to handle the motor choice; basically BIG motors.
As we move forward, will this whoop format become the standard for sub 250 gram quads?

I already have several of the 26x26 whoop AIO FCs in the parts bin. I can just pick a frame and drop in the electronics.

Anyway, if anyone has thoughts on the subject, drop by the discussion thread. Thanks.
