Just use the R9 slim firmware from my website https://davesdronedesigns.com/frsky-firmwares/ Posts: 5,869 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,779 in 2,241 posts Likes Given: 7,635 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 (24-Sep-2020, 04:32 AM)bffigjam Wrote: You install the old firmware on them and they will work just fine. Just use the R9 slim firmware from my website https://davesdronedesigns.com/frsky-firmwares/ Hi bffigjam, Thanks for that excellent list of firmwares. I have both XM+ and R9MM receivers that are ACCST {pre-ACCESS}. All of the FrSky gear is ACCST and will stay that way. I figure that I can use these things for a long time. In fact, I generally don't update anything unless it becomes absolutely necessary. I would, however, buy older, ACCST, gear especially if the price is right. At this point, I DO NOT plan to buy any of the newer, ACCESS, products from FrSky and will NOT buy an FrSky transmitter. I had intended to move to TBS Crossfire, but I got a deal on R9 gear that I just couldn't pass up; $50 for an R9 module and two R9MM receivers. Then, I have found and bought several additional R9MM receivers for $20 each. Also, I am watching the Immersion Ghost product. I think it is a little early for me to consider, but I am watching and waiting. I want to see some comparisons between Ghost and Crossfire. I have also read that Betaflight doesn't yet fully support Ghost. Yeah, I don't want to buy a version 1.0 product; lets see how it goes and when they release an update. • Posts: 1,197 Threads: 59 Likes Received: 592 in 395 posts Likes Given: 210 Joined: Mar 2019 Reputation: 42 (12-Oct-2020, 10:45 PM)iFly4rotors Wrote: Hi bffigjam, Thanks for that excellent list of firmwares. As for buying ACCESS gear, I have a pretty high throughput of gear and have had to buy about 8 ACCESS receivers so far, but I just flash them with ACCST firmware and go about my day, no big deal Posts: 5,869 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,779 in 2,241 posts Likes Given: 7,635 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 (12-Oct-2020, 10:54 PM)bffigjam Wrote: Glad the list is helpful. At least now. Have you tried more than one R9 OTA receiver incase one of them was faulty? • Posts: 1,197 Threads: 59 Likes Received: 592 in 395 posts Likes Given: 210 Joined: Mar 2019 Reputation: 42 01-Nov-2020, 10:37 PM (This post was last modified: 01-Nov-2020, 10:38 PM by bffigjam.) You do not get the OTA features of course, but they work the same as a ACCESS R9 Mini. Edit: Snow I wonder if someone tried to do this with V2.0.x ACCESS firmware it may not work? Some sort of wall added by Frsky? I mean rx's made to work together have trouble on v2 lol. • Posts: 225 Threads: 33 Likes Received: 37 in 29 posts Likes Given: 40 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 0 29-Nov-2020, 08:01 PM (This post was last modified: 29-Nov-2020, 08:02 PM by Rick h.) Ok, so now I am confused. There is conflicting info in this thread and all over the internet on this. Can I flash a new R9MM OTA currently with ACCESS on it, to the old ACCST flex/fport firmware and have it work just like my original R9MM receivers on fport firmware (just without the new ota feature)? I don’t really want to change radios or receivers again. I just want to build another quad and also have a spare rx just in case. • Posts: 21,250 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,962 in 6,632 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 787 (29-Nov-2020, 08:01 PM)Rick h Wrote: Ok, so now I am confused. Yes, you can flash R9MM ACCST firmware to a new R9MM-OTA receiver and it will work with your old R9M ACCT (pre-2019) module. • Posts: 225 Threads: 33 Likes Received: 37 in 29 posts Likes Given: 40 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 0 • |
