LOL. Just when you thought you were getting to grips with it all, the tables get turned again
All the OTA versions of the R9 receivers are backward compatible with the ACCST firmware, and both the OTA and non-OTA versions of the receivers run identical ACCST firmware.
The non-OTA receivers can also run the ACCESS firmware but the ACCESS firmware files for the OTA and non-OTA versions are different because the OTA version has over-the-air firmware update capabilities while the non-OTA firmware doesn't. Other than that, the functionality of the ACCESS firmware is the same on both the OTA and non-OTA versions. Also, you can only run ACCESS firmware on either the OTA or non-OTA R9 receivers if the R9M module you have is the newer "2019" version,
and your transmitter is an ACCESS equipped transmitter with an internal ISRM module instead of an internal XJT module.
See how confusing it all is?
And just to add more to the above, I discovered that with the ACCST firmware used on the R9 Mini, R9 Mini OTA, R9 MM, R9MM OTA, R9 Slim, R9 Slim+, and R9 Slim+ OTA, is the
exact same ACCST firmware for all of them. The downloaded firmware files for each of those just has a different name, but the firmware file contents are identical.
