I kinda want them all lol. Posts: 788 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 543 in 341 posts Likes Given: 820 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 I like that a lot! I've been thinking about building a 4" long range myself and I like your frame. I also like the price of this one. I might have to pull the trigger on this one. • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 If I had to pick now that I've salivated over them for a few days lol, I think the Airblade UAV is the better thought out design with a dedicated camera cage and rear arm crossbars. The Katana to me seems like a refined version of Dave C's. But I am willing to bet that Dave C's is probably the lightest of them all. Still, I want them all LOL. (But I can't cos in the end, I still have most fun with my 5 inchers.) • Posts: 788 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 543 in 341 posts Likes Given: 820 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 Yeah they are all pretty nice. CNC Madness makes a 5" Dave C's frame. I bet that would make a nice long range quad. • Posts: 5,966 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,798 in 2,259 posts Likes Given: 7,776 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 Hi ronin, I like the looks of that Tomoquads frame. Yeah, I also like the red hardware on it...SWEET Overall, I think the deadcat design is nice and helps keep the props out of the video. • Posts: 788 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 543 in 341 posts Likes Given: 820 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 Got mine in yesterday. This thing is smaller than I thought lol. I think its the same size as my 3" frame. I get the rest of the components next week and then its build time! I have some 4" props coming too. I just put the 3" props om there to see how it looked with them on. Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 Nice!! Didn't you also get a Transformer Mini? You're not gonna go for a 4" biblade micro long range? I might get a Katana. They're having a 15% off Father's Day sale. • Posts: 788 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 543 in 341 posts Likes Given: 820 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 No I didnt get a transformer mini. I was working on a 3" build but decided to do the micro long range instead. So yes this is going to be a long range build. Don't know about biblades but still considering. The props I ordered are triblade. the props on here are just some 3" props I had laying around. • Posts: 788 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 543 in 341 posts Likes Given: 820 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 This frame is super light. I'm hoping to keep it under 250 grams with the lipo. Should get some good flight times out of this one! Tmotor just came out with these sick looking 1507's shaftless. I've got Xing 1404s on my 4" micro long range. Yes, I might just have something up my sleeve Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 Oh no, I have not gotten this frame iFly. Hi ronin, That's ok, I was sort of looking for a "real" 4" frame anyway. ![Big Grin Big Grin](https://intofpv.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png) The website is nice and I found some other items that I had been looking for as well; particularly, a decent camera mount for the 26x26 diagonal bolt pattern on most toothpicks. So, I decided to just go ahead and place an order and get a bunch of stuff. I also got 4 extra back arms for a Katana 2 (because they are longer than the front ones). Yeah, have I got plans for those. My recent quad builds are essentially "test beds" for upgrade parts and components that I will eventually use in a long range build which will likely end up being a 4 incher. Recall that the Phantom-X arm extensions are setup for 4 inch props. I expect this to be the sweet spot for me. • Posts: 5,966 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,798 in 2,259 posts Likes Given: 7,776 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 Got my order from TomoQuads yesterday ![Smile Smile](https://intofpv.com/images/smilies/smile.png) ... Katana 2 frame, some frame arms, and a bunch of 3D printed parts. The quality is really good. I am very pleased with the TomoQuads products. Now that I have a frame, I will need to work on the other parts. I guess I need to accelerate the Phantom-X testing. Oh Yeah, those extra Katana 2 back arms (the longer ones) are perfect for a 5 inch build. Thanks ronin ![High Five High Five](https://intofpv.com/images/smilies/custom/high-five.png) and wllmlutz Posts: 788 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 543 in 341 posts Likes Given: 820 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 7 |
