I really do like walksnail, but was wondering why RR has been practically giving them away at events like Rampage (one friend of mine came back having won two sets of WS goggles and the other friend came back with THREE sets). Looks like they were trying to offload what would be "old" stock. Huh, odd. They have my address - nothing stopping them from sending me their 'old' stock (?) _______________________________________ Analog’s really not that bad … with the right gear. A number of people on Facebook are already trying to sell off their "old" V1 Walksnail goggles. That's a shame. They are beautiful goggles with an excellent refresh rate and amazing picture. The foam is horrible, the hard plastic and glass inside rest right on my bones in my face. Plus it looks like trash. If I could sell these and lose 10% I'd consider that a win. • Posts: 6,160 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,299 in 1,845 posts Likes Given: 4,756 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 103 (26-Sep-2023, 07:33 AM)ph2t Wrote: That's a shame. Everyone was literally falling over themselves to sell their V1 goggles, and then the V2 goggles ended up getting delayed by about 3 months, so those pilots who sold their V1 goggles were then left with no goggles to fly their quads with, and when the V2 goggles did finally start shipping they had no more features than the V1 goggles had, and they were plagued with a number of different issues which went unresolved for months afterwards. That is the risk you take with always wanting the latest and greatest hardware on day one of it's release. China is on holiday doesn’t come back to work until the 8th of this month so it’s likely we’ll see no picture of what the goggles may look like. Just one picture of how they look would help keep the hype built up. I’m curious if their plans are to cut ties with Fat Shark if they have to change any of the good designs of V1 they want to use in the V2? • Posts: 633 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 321 in 233 posts Likes Given: 330 Joined: Jan 2023 Reputation: 7 Let the miracle be known !!!! _______________________________________ Analog’s really not that bad … with the right gear. • Posts: 21,420 Threads: 597 Likes Received: 9,040 in 6,691 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 797 02-Oct-2023, 04:20 PM (This post was last modified: 02-Oct-2023, 05:48 PM by SnowLeopardFPV. I’m curious if their plans are to cut ties with Fat Shark if they have to change any of the good designs of V1 they want to use in the V2? I'm 95% sure that Caddx have dumped FatShark. All they brought to the table was the goggle casing for the Walksnail system, and maybe their contacts in the optics arena. Everything inside was designed and manufactured by Walksnail. We haven't heard a peep from Greg French since the original launch of the Avatar HD system, almost like he's gone into hiding. It's quite ironic because FatShark dumped Divimath and the HDZero technology to secretly partner up with Caddx, and now the tables seemed to have turned with FatShark being left out in the cold. FatShark are now a dead company who have nothing to offer to the FPV community anymore. They signed their own death warrant when they sold out to Red Cat. What goes around comes around. They can't even provide proper support or replacement parts for the existing analog goggle range. I was unable to get a new faceplate for my HDO's (no longer manufactured and no dealers had any old stock), and people with HDO2's still seem to struggle to get a replacement HDMI board which is notorious for burning out. The other ironic thing is that Drew (also an employee of Red Cat family) told people 1.5 years ago that they didn't get to know, and now it's him who apparently doesn't get to know as Caddx cast FatShark / Red Cat out to sea without a paddle Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Oct 2023 Reputation: 0 What about disable two way link after take off? All this drama.. I’m learning to “wait” till the bugs get worked out…still love my HDzero goggles, even with sending them back for “optics”..they also work great with my analog module AND Walksnail vrx… • Posts: 21,420 Threads: 597 Likes Received: 9,040 in 6,691 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 797 The following image has been doing the rounds on social media today stating that it's the new Walksnail Avatar HD Goggles (V2). I have no idea if this is fake, an AI generated image, or a leaked photo of the real deal, so take it with a pinch of salt. The person who posted the image stated that he got blocked from the official Walksnail Facebook group after doing so, so maybe they are real. Who knows.
