Have you tried different antennas?

After the small heatsink update and subsequent loss of signal strength I tried a crazy assortment of LHCP antennas and patches, including the GogglesX patches, in my backyard. I had a pad and pencil and tried to document the changes. But nothing was really better, like in the video, and the indications changed so much that it was inconclusive. I never got anywhere near all channels green. FYI I sent my GogglesX back, for that and many other reasons, sent April 5 and notified yesterday May 11 that they had been fixed. I'll report if there is a change for better or worse.
In the meantime I bought a set of Fatshark Dominator HD's to fly with. They do not come with antennas. I didn't want to fly them with the ridiculous jungle of old antennas and adapters I own so I bought two sets of antennas. First the set of four DJI stubbies that NeeBeeDrone sells for $20. And then the pricey TrueRC set with two stubbies and two patches. I will try those antennas with the GogglesX when I get them back.

In my case the part of the problem is poor stock antennas.

1) Swapping omni antennas like from top-left (TX-RX) to bottom-right (RX) has impact on range. It means that stock antennas have different characteristics
2) Touching TX-RX antenna makes more green channels at refresh
3) Just for fun I put my my spare radio (2.4GHz) antenna instead of TX-RX omni and got better range and signal stability than with stock one
4) Finally, put Triple feed patch from my old analog goggles (with additional SMA to RP-SMA converter) to TX-RX port and got all the green channels (after sink change I got only 1-3) and range improvement (from 700m to 900m - haven't tried farther yet)

So, my result is similar to what was concluded in the video above. If narrowing of heat sink helps to improve reception, then there is a big chance of having poor "unbalanced" stock antennas. I will get myself better set. Guys at another forum said true-rc are going to issue x-air tuned for Goggle X (and even sending it by request already).

I bought the Caddx official patch antennas to test. I have a lot of woods in my property and one corner is where I hoped improvement for the penetration, but cannot really see any difference between stock and the patch antenna. Maybe should test something else? The signal drop isn't catastrophical, but it's just in fast corner, so need to try something else before chopping those trees down.
