Now is the time to sell your current Walksnail Avatar HD or FatShark Dominator HD goggles if you want to maximise the money you can get for them.

It looks like Walksnail will be releasing new goggles next month. This also explains the apparent shortage of Walksnail Avatar HD and FatShark Dominator HD goggles in recent weeks from all the vendors. I guess they have been clearing / running down stock of the old goggles before the new ones get released. From the "all-in-one" description I would like to hope that they support HDMI input and analog input to cater for everyone's needs  The bigger question is, will they also support DJI air units for a true all-in-one user experience

I saw that post.. the AIO had me scratching my head..having goggles described as AIO is not normal..
Hdmi is only PART of it.. they would be moronic not to have a expansion bay for analog modules..

Yeah, it's the usual Caddx marketing BS / smoke and mirrors. They seem to have taken some PR lessons from Orqa.

I very much doubt these are truly "all-in-one" goggles, but the question is how much "open" stuff have they actually added to make them more attractive to people who want to use them for more than just a single proprietary video transmission system. I guess we will have to wait until October to find out.

Without looking at the outline in the pic I was thinking oopohhhh a 25.5 x 25,5 aio with a ws vtx included!

If they’ve got the ability to run an analog vrx module in addition to the ws, I’ll certainly be tempted.

I reached out to Caddx via FB Messenger to ask if the new goggles will support an analog vrx module.

The response I got was, “Sorry, no comment”

LOL. A number of people on Facebook are already trying to sell off their "old" V1 Walksnail goggles.

If this doesn't include onboard sound, there isn't much for me to concern myself with.

Having some sort of analog capabilities would be great. Then I won’t need these old box goggles any more.

If the new Walksnail goggles do come with analog capabilities, I wouldn't expect the same clarity you get with HDZero goggles. Carl specifically designed a brand new silicon chip to improve deinterlacing of an analog signal in the HDZero goggles, so unless he has licensed that technology to Caddx then they will likely just be making use of the normal Richwave chipset that all other analog goggles currently utilise.

I don't get this purported clarity now. So this would only be a step above any of those, except O3 (audio on any of these digital systems would make it my defacto standard, for me, but I can only go by clarity and latency now, so o3 is my main)

But that does pose another burning question: if we can use only one UART now for HDZ, as mentioned in another thread, could that other channel be used to send an audio signal? IOW: audio on HDZ with the realization of only one half of the uart being used?

It’s never a dull moment with all the constant new equipment being poured out into the fpv market.
  
   Walksnail website selling FS Dom HD wasn’t supposed to happen.

   It’ll be interesting to see what dji and Walksnail has to offer with their new goggles and or protocol.

     I’m curious what a used set of WS goggles are going for?
