Jumper t16 keystuck
#1
Hello everyone. I’ve had my jumper t16 for a little over two months now. I’m really enjoying it. So yesterday I turned it on to play liftoff and I got a glitchy screen after the jumper splash screen and it say key stuck error. A few times I was able to get it to work by pressing a few buttons but now it seems that nothing works. No buttons or the scroll wheel either. Is this something anyone knows how to fix or do I have to contact the retailer I got it from?

i dont have knowledge about, but probably there is a firmware flash/update possibility. i would search in this direction, if you didnt reveive a replacement.

Seems it's not uncommon. Try these.
1- checked ribbon cable alignment for all ribbons (they all looked good).
2- reformatted the SD card and loaded an earlier backed up version of SD card contents.
3- checked the firmware at 2.2.3 (expecting 2.3v0018 contents) and verified the SD contents as correct (opened the file with text edit to verify that).
4- ejected the T16 drive and SD card using the disc utility.
5- fired up the Tx and got the same 'key stuck' error (external module not fitted).
6- fitted the external module.
7- Booyah - success
8- companion - I read the models from the TX and added some more saved models onto the companion and copied them back to the TX without issue.
9- companion - I then updated the SD contents for custom images and sounds on the desktop SD card and syncronised the TX SD card with the companion without issue.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I tried the fix that bffigjam suggested from makerfire. Unfortunately it did not work for me.. I reformatted the sd card and reloaded the SD card contents.  I even updated the firmware.  I contacted the vendor (hobby-wing.com) and they got back to me right away.  They suggested that I unplug the three ribbon cables and then re-plug them in with the cables reversed.  It seemed odd to me but I did it and it worked.  My remote is working again.  They suggested unplugging all three ribbon cables, but I only did the two on the side and it solved my issue.  I have the pro model and I did not feel like removing the internal module to re-seat a ribbon cable.  I tried it with just the two side cables flipped and it worked.  Im super happy because I really do like this remote.  I hope this is not a re occurring issue.

That is an odd fix. I wonder what is the rationale behind the recommendation. glad you got it fixed.

All they got you to do is re-seat the ribbon cable connections. Reversing the ribbon cables isn't what fixed the issue. They probably just got you to do that to guarantee that you would disconnect and reconnect both ends of the cable.

Yes I agree that all I really did was reseat the ribbon connectors. Glad it worked. But I am wondering why this happens and how I can prevent it in the future. It’s an easy fix but would be pretty annoying to do in the field.

May have been just a QC error for a small batch of transmitters.  I'd be willing to bet that you never have to do it again...

Thank you Big Grin ! Re-seat the left ribbon cable connection works for me too.
