Jumper T20 and its variants (as my first radio)
#1
Hello there!

I'm starting to onboard myself into the hobby, and I decided that one of the first steps, alongside reading the regulations and playing with the simulator, is going to acquire my first radio. I'm all-in for ELRS. And I'm thinking that the Jumper T20 is a good candidate. My first usage will be to play Liftoff with it. What do you folks think? Any other recommendation?

I saw it comes in different models, T20, T20S and T20 GEMINI. I guess the T20S have better gimbals than the T20. But the GEMINI comes with this new feature for ERLS that as far as I understand will have doubled radio channels, and hop between them according to the RSSI. Is that right?

Do you folks think it's a killer feature to have? What other radios can be considered good candidates for me?

Thank you!

I wouldn't say the potentiometer gimbals are better than the hall sensor gimbals, and I wouldn't pay the premium for the Gemini version. I'd recommend getting the 2.4GHz Hall sensor version, or wait a little bit and see if Jumper releases an updated version with the V2 1W ELRS module and CNC gimbals.

What does the V2 1W bring over the original 1W module?

I have the T20 and it is a decent quality radio, but there are so many good options these days I think it depends very much on what you are personally looking for. I am a thumber, I like my previous Jumper T-lite a lot too, despite cheap crappy squeaky gimbals and only 250mw power, it has a small light convenient form factor that fits my hands better and sometimes I reach for that instead.

Thank you, guys!

I decided to buy the Jumper T20 with hall effect gimbals. I'm waiting for it to arrive.
