The first post in this thread has now been updated to include the list of fixes for the RC3 release of both the firmware and the configurator. Did not expect that! I am glad they took it seriously and fixed it asap. I will wait a while still, as changing/fixing code can make other things break sometimes so i dont want to assume its all good now. • Posts: 21,420 Threads: 597 Likes Received: 9,040 in 6,691 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 797 (02-Feb-2022, 11:42 AM)Myman Wrote: Did not expect that! I guess we just need to wait to see what issues get reported from the RC3 release. My inbox gets filled with GitHub notifications every day which I trawl through and try to figure out which ones look serious and which ones look to be just minor annoyances. • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2022 Reputation: 0 hi there... i have same problem on my fc on 4.3 rc3 after 10 20 seconds it tels on osd that rx-loss and drone disarming itself... fc: mamba f722 ic2 crossfire micro • Posts: 4 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Feb 2022 Reputation: 0 08-Feb-2022, 09:23 PM (This post was last modified: 08-Feb-2022, 09:24 PM by Omega1978.) Luckily only a dirty quad… @martish & @Omega1978 - Can you both please raise this as a new issue on GitHub at the link below because I don't already see any other reported issues for the same problem and the Betaflight devs need to be made aware of the issue so it can be looked into and fixed before a final Betaflight 4.3 release is published. https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight/issues • Posts: 4 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Feb 2022 Reputation: 0 (08-Feb-2022, 11:09 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: @martish & @Omega1978 - Can you both please raise this as a new issue on GitHub at the link below because I don't already see any other reported issues for the same problem and the Betaflight devs need to be made aware of the issue so it can be looked into and fixed before a final Betaflight 4.3 release is published. https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight/issues I have posted the issue on github • Posts: 72 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 26 in 19 posts Likes Given: 45 Joined: Jun 2021 Reputation: 2 Ouch, did not think that kind of serious bugs would be present in RC3. Thought they fixed those issues, guess not. All my quads have BF 4.2.11 and i suspect they will have it installed for a long time still. • Posts: 21,420 Threads: 597 Likes Received: 9,040 in 6,691 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 797 (09-Feb-2022, 11:11 AM)Omega1978 Wrote: I have posted the issue on github For anyone else who is interested in following the failsafe/disarm problem in Betaflight 4.3 RC3, a link to your GitHub issue is below... https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight/issues/11396 Just one question that probably needs to be asked. I would also make a point of adding to your GitHub issue thread that you've already flashed back to 4.2.11 and done some test flights without experiencing the same problem so that the Betaflight devs know you've already tried that so that potential issues with any of the other hardware (like the receiver) on your quad can be immediately ruled out. I'm still seeing some concerning bugs being raised even in the RC3 release and I can't see us getting a final release of Betaflight 4.3 any time soon TBH. I honestly think that too many changes have been put into the Betaflight 4.3 version which has introduced more risk than was necessary and seems to have broken quite a few things that were working fine in previous versions. Smaller more frequent incremental releases each with less changes in would have been a better option and less risky IMO instead of a 18+ month development period (since the Betaflight 4.2 release) and then a behemoth set of changes being unleashed along with a ton of related bugs. Hopefully they can rollback to the 4.2 scheduler and get the rest of the new features out, as releasing 4.3 as-is with the scheduler issues and critical disarm bug is a disaster waiting to happen. • Posts: 397 Threads: 26 Likes Received: 37 in 26 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Feb 2020 Reputation: 0 I agree with snow I will also wait until it's written in stone it's hard to be pateint because those new features and all sure sound good but it's not work losing a $500 dollar quad so heres to the beta testers lol • Posts: 21,420 Threads: 597 Likes Received: 9,040 in 6,691 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 797 Today one of the ExpressLRS devs acknowledged the known issues with Betaflight 4.3 and highlighted the risks of running it. It is now five weeks since RC3 was published and there is still no sign or word of an RC4.
