Betaflight 4.5.0 Release Candidate 4 Now Available
#1
EDIT (28th April 2024): The FINAL RELEASE of Betaflight 4.5.0 is now available. See another thread HERE for details.

The first release candidate of Betaflight 4.5 was made publicly available yesterday (Christmas Day) for anyone who wants to try it. As always, with RC releases there is an element of risk involved just like the gyro bricking issue in one of the Betaflight 4.3 RC, so if you decide to install this then just make sure you are comfortable running RC releases. Otherwise just wait until the final release.

Relevant Betaflight RC1 artefacts are linked to below. You will also need to install Betaflight Configurator 10.10.0 RC1:
EDIT (11th January 2024): Betaflight 4.5.0 RC2 and Betaflight Configurator 10.10.0 RC2 were published a few days ago. Links below now updated for the RC2 artefacts:
EDIT (18th March 2024): Betaflight 4.5.0 RC3 and Betaflight Configurator 10.10.0 RC3 were published a few days ago. Links below now updated for the RC3 artefacts:
EDIT (15th April 2024): Betaflight 4.5.0 RC4 and Betaflight Configurator 10.10.0 RC4 were published a few days ago. Links below now updated for the RC4 artefacts:

With AIRMODE permanently switched on and EzLanding enabled, if you centre the pitch/roll stick and lower the throttle close to zero, Betaflight will automatically turn off AIRMODE because it thinks you are coming down to land, but if you happen to have your sticks in those positions while performing an acro manoevre in the air then the same will happen which can send the quad into freefall (AIRMODE will get switch off momentarily until you move the throttle up and/or your pitch/roll stick away from the centre). There are a couple of parameters to adjust that behaviour which Drainman speaks about in the video linked to below. Just fast forward to time position 6:59 in the video to get to that particular part.

I think that it can be useful but enabled permanently can kick in when you don't expect it to and become dangerous, you should be able to decide during the flight when is active, but at this point you can simply put air mode on a switch...
