Had to have been a butt puckering moment there. Had me flinch a little. I noticed a little vibrations but not much. You went through all the screws and tightened them I take it? Sometimes the vibrations of the quad can loosen screws even on the arms and I could see that causing vibrations. In any case it looks like some minor tuning will clean it right up. Nice flight man! Congrats on 1km! Next time send it even further. I suggest going out in half kilometre increments though. I went out one mile with my first mid/long rang build and got over confident. Next rang flight I went straight for 2 miles, forgot to record my DVR, it fell from the sky and I lost my quad, gopro session5, and confidence. It has made me a very cautious pilot. I double check everything before I send it now.

I screamed like a girl when I saw them. Definitely shit myself a bit!

I did originally have a loose arm in the previous video in this thread that I found by tightening stuff. I think at this point I just need to get the tune nice and that might stabilise it since I tried balancing the props too and they were fine. The only other thing I can see is that the frame is so tiny and lightweight it's probably just a frame thing, especially with how thin the arms are (wide not thickness, still 5mm thick).

And ouch! That must have been a harsh lesson. I feel for you. My worst so far was when I was power looping a bridge/viaduct over water and I got the loop just a little too short and didn't have the power/confidence to pull out. Went straight into the river Sad. Got it out but most of it was fried.

I plan to go further but I'm gonna head out to the countryside so I'm not near any houses. On that flight I tried to stick to fields and warehouses for worst case scenarios but it got a bit too sketchy to continue at the end. I've also got the betaflight rescue mode all sorted with the GPS which will help loads. Lose video? Flip the switch. Lose rx signal? Failsafe will kick in and fly it back (tested at the end of this video actually when it's hovering in the field and loses signal). So I'm pretty confident to go far providing I'm not over anything I can damage if it all goes tits up.

It looks like you got a pretty smooth fly, I doubt that it would shake it to pieces. I have seen other top mount FPV cameras on all sizes of quads...even a 12 inch.  Also, you mount a GoPro up there and it doesn't shake to pieces. It is a pretty easy mount; you might give it a try just to see.

If I had a 7 inch, I would.  Thinking
Ah....7 inch.... OH Stop it... I am not ready for a 7 inch  Huh   Or am I  Thinking

Very much YES. Do it. But maybe don't use betaflight as it seems to be a nightmare on anything but 5's Big Grin

First, I have a 5 inch build that I am working on. After that, I will work on the 7 inch.

Since I am not sure where to put a "Journal" of builds, information, videos, that document my progress, I am using my intro thread. I will keep adding to it as I go along.

My thought is to have links to all of my build threads and commentary on projects that may not end up as  build.
