7inch XL7 T-Motor F80 Pro1900Kv
#1
Finally got this beast to a place I like it. Off to do some flight testing this evening so I'll post some videos later. Won't be testing range just yet until I'm confident it's all good but possibly try that this weekend. It also won't have this antenna on for long range! I've got a super long one for when I start doing that stuff.
  • iFlight XL7 Frame
  • Mamba F405 Stack
  • T-Motor F80 Pro 1900Kv Motors (HQ 7x2x3.5 props)

  • 2900mah Overlander 30C Battery (Just for now, gonna get a 4000mah battery once I've done some playing around)
  • 416G without Battery / 658G with 2900mah battery

Nice build man! I'm interested to see some video with that runcam hybrid. I am thinking about buying it for build I'm working on. No reason you can't get some good range out of that bad boy!

@wllmlutz will get some footage up this weekend. I think I've already got some on youtube but I'll get some specifically with this build too Smile

Awesome build and great flight! It is AMAZING the power these 7" craft are capable of.

Have you had good experiences with the HQ's? When I first built mine some moths ago, I had two of those props fail catastrophically at the hub. Shifted to the Gemfans that have been ultra reliable...but like the way the HQ props flew better.

rjenningsuk,

Nice looking build.  Cool   Thumbs Up  The video footage looks real good to me. How does the FPV feed look?

Runcam Hybrid camera... what is the model? What size is it?  Thanks.

Ditto what Kaity said on those blades.

Nice build!

I just had the first proper flight this evening and the props were fine. But that's only 3 packs so I'll reserve judgement. I have noticed that HQ Props are very very tight fitting to motors compared to other props I've used. That previous flight was the same build but with 6 inch props and a 1550mah battery, just messing about before I really went for the long range build.

iFly4rotors it's just the runcam hybrid 4k. Although I'd wait since Oscar said they're bringing out a new one with a better fpv camera, although I didn't think it was bad in the first place.

I'll be putting up some footage from this evening along with the DVR which should help you see how the fpv feed looks too Smile.

Managed to get around 8minutes out of a 2200mah battery and could of probably milked it for longer if I babied it more.

Video from the last flight this evening where I got ~8 mins on a 2200mah pack.

Lot of camera shakes but I've done no tuning yet. However it didn't have this issue with 6 inch props so definitely a 7inch prop thing.

You probably want to look at balancing the props before you start doing any tuning. Out of balance props seem to be more prevalent on the larger props...

Snow is right. I had a seven inch that jerked all over the place and I balanced the props and it flew like a whole different quad. Dig the music man. I can think of a few Chili Peppers songs that would be good cruising music. I guarantee you can get out passed 3km and back in under 8 minutes. Nice flight area too.

Awesome cheers man. Remember seeing someone talking about this in a video too and it makes perfect sense since it seemed fine on 6inch.

Love the chilis, one of my favourite bands growing up. Plus that song is 8mins long so... haha.

And yeah I'm gonna hold off on the long range stuff for now until I get GPS and can improve my VTX signal because that seems to be the weak link at the moment.

So I checked the props and they seem balanced. No bias to drop one way or the other.

So I then went over all the bolts on the frame and two of the arms were loose enough that they required another full turn. So I'm thinking it was probably that. Will see when I fly again this afternoon.

So I flew again and it still has the slight shakes. But then my 5 inch did also looking back at the video so not sure if going to be something to do with the wind and i-term. Will have to see.

Also I got some proper scales and my drone is a LOT lighter than I thought it was...
