Motor rubbing after crash
#1
Hello community!

Yesterday I crashed in a bando and now one of the motors makes a sound like rubbing when I spin it with my hand.

I connected it to BF to check if the RPM of the motors are all the same and it works properly, but this one makes a different noise, like I said, like rubbing.

From what I can see there's any physical damage, but I guess inside there should be something wrong. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Thanks in advance!

You’ve likely got one of these things going on:
-damaged bearings
-bent shaft
-deformed bell

I’d suggest removing the bell and inspecting it, if all seems straight and true on the shaft and bell, then I’d replace the bearings.

It could also just be crud up in there. Either way, take the bell off and take a look.
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

I got grit in my motor after landing in debris in a bando. After a couple dozen rotations it cleared itself up and had been working since. Hope that's all you got
