No, Failsafe setup is all part of Cleanflight, when you get to point of setting it all up, lets us know if you get stuck and someone will help you out. Pretty intuitive actually. • Posts: 67 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 (20-Aug-2016, 01:47 AM)BigglesFPV Wrote: No, Failsafe setup is all part of Cleanflight, when you get to point of setting it all up, lets us know if you get stuck and someone will help you out. I believe failsafe is just an option that cleanflight already provides you.... I'm at work now so I can't open it, but as far as I remember it is on the right side in the "Configuration" tab on cleanflight.... I also found failsafe settings on my radio Tx.... probably yours got it too... I dont really know how both works cause I've just been trying to make my quad to fly recently (and fried 2 escs lol) but after all this class you got on this tutorial (and I've learned too), failsafe won't be something hard for you to manage • Posts: 67 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 20-Aug-2016, 03:21 AM (This post was last modified: 20-Aug-2016, 03:22 AM by Savage FPV.) Set failsafe in cleanflight. (you may read conflicting comments, but Failsafe in the Flight Control software is really the best way to set failsafe.) • Posts: 67 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 Ok, I will make sure I do that I have been looking around on YouTube and I have heard about diversity modules for fpv googles, Are they a need? • Posts: 1,070 Threads: 70 Likes Received: 742 in 378 posts Likes Given: 577 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 44 20-Aug-2016, 06:53 AM (This post was last modified: 20-Aug-2016, 07:07 AM by KonradS.) (you may read conflicting comments, but Failsafe in the Flight Control software is really the best way to set failsafe.) That depends on the way how RX can be configured. For example my flysky ia6b continues to send last received signal when it's lost and failsafe is set to "off". It's best to turn failsafe "on" on this TX/RX apart from FC settings. My settings are: throttle -100%, disarm switch -100%, buzzer switch 100% (you may even add failsafe switch to this combo) I believe frsky receivers are configured to send "bad" signal that is understood by FC as a failsafe condition (frsky users should correct me if I'm wrong). In both cases everyone should set it on FC side. And ALWAYS test different failsafe conditions in controlled environment after setting up, especially those two: switch off TX and unplug RX from FC, both in armed state. Definately not a need it just helps as you can use two antennas - ie. a atandard cloverleaf + directional. It continuously checks which one receives better signal and switches if needed. But honestly until you start to fly between obstacles, ordinary VRX is sufficient. Newbies should only buy diversity receiver if they can afford it. • Posts: 67 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 20-Aug-2016, 07:24 AM (This post was last modified: 20-Aug-2016, 09:46 AM by Savage FPV.) Ok, I will get it later if I need it I'm switching esc's, going to Lumenier 30A BLHeli ESC. They are the same as the other ones, just a bit cheaper. For the Props, should I get DAL or HQ? • Posts: 5,317 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,031 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 (20-Aug-2016, 07:24 AM)Savage FPV Wrote: Ok, I will get it later if I need it I'm switching esc's, going to Lumenier 30A BLHeli ESC. If I did a blind test I would not be able to tell the difference between them. • Posts: 67 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 (20-Aug-2016, 11:25 PM)oyvinla Wrote: Yeah, I will do that. Is HQ any different? Also, I have heard stuff about the KISS FC and the Lumenier LUX Flight Controller. Are they any good? What is the difference between BLHeli and BLHeli_S? • Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 (20-Aug-2016, 11:36 PM)Savage FPV Wrote: Is HQ any different? From my experience, I feel that the HQ props has less "grip" in the air and less top speed than the DAL T5045 V2 and Kingkong T5045, but I tested them on a quad I don't like (Martian 3 with Kingkong 2205 2500kv according to tests found on youtube) and IMO it looks like that motor doesn't like triblades very much. My favorite prop on this setup is the two blade DAL 5045 BN V2. I will have to test the HQ props on my lisam ls210 with Racerstar 2205 2300kv before I can say much more about them. I know a lot of people are flying them and love them so it has to be a reason for it. The KISS FC is great because finally you can flash it with Betaflight . Just kidding, I have never tried one, so I can't say anything about it.
