Is there a Tutorial for making YouTube vids?
#1
Just for an Experiment. I uploaded 2:30 minutes of fpv video out of my goggles, directly to YouTube. As you may imagine, the video and sound is HORRIBLE.
Here it is if you want to watch it. Sorry about the sound, turn down your volume if you decide to hit Play.

My original fpv feed looks pretty OK on my computer, but turns into a piece of  Poop after upload to YT.
I obviously need to learn some Editing and Producing skills, but I'm not quite sure where to start.
There are tons of IN DEPTH videos on YT that are WAY deeper than I think I need.
I'm kind of surprised that I haven't been able to find a step by step , "This is how to do it right," video made by someone in our community.
Can anybody point me to such a video,,,,, or offer me some tips on where to stare?

Get a good video editing program.  There are many awesome programs you pay for....but there are free programs that are sufficient for most people.

I like Hit Film Express, here and Resolve, here  for my two free programs.  I, like you, are still learning.  But these two programs can make you look awesome.  Lots of vids on YT to help with Hit Film.

Here is an example of what I have done with Hit Film Express 2017.

Also, using DVR footage isn't the best baseline for your vids.  It helps to have an HD cam.  Something as simple as a Foxeer legend, or a RunCam 3S, or a Go Pro Session, or...well, you get it.

Krohsis is there a particular reason you upload your videos to Airvuv rather than YouTube?... Is there some advantage to Airvuz?

Redharris, I have both a Airvuz account and a YT account.  I prefer Airvuz for several reasons.  One, Airvuz is dedicated to the FPV community.  Two, Airvuz doesn't have nannies that control what you use for music on your videos.  YT has different levels of control on copyrighted music.  I can go on a rant on the issue of how copyrighted music is out of control, but I will spare  you that.  Also, I have better image quality on Airvuz than YT.  I upload in YT's preferred settings and still have fuzzy or less than perfect quality.  Airvuz is always very good.

The negative to Airvuz is it doesn't post with an image of the video on most pages.  And YT has a much broader reach.  If you are a superstar pilot, YT gives you the exposure you deserve.

Yes, the YouTube compression algorithm does sometimes completely mash up what was a perfectly good video. It seems to be somewhat pot luck how it turns out unfortunately Rolleyes

On the subject of copyrighted material, one thing to be aware of is the EU's Article 13 directive on copyrighted material which is due to come into play some time in 2019. While this only applies to EU member states, it directly affects content consumers in those states. So, even if copyrighted content was uploaded from someone in a non-EU state to a non-EU hosted service, my understanding of the directive is that anyone in an EU member state should (would) not be able to view the content and the onus is on the hosting provider to enforce such legislation whether that be by taking down the copyrighted content or blocking access to it by EU member state consumers. This means that if you upload copyrighted content to a hosted service, subscribers and potential content consumers in EU member states may be blocked from viewing that content. This directive would apply to all content providers including Airvuz unless they choose to ignore any EU legislation and risk whatever consequences that might result in. Just something to keep in mind if you want to maximise access to your content from all corners of the world. The following link has a relatively easy to understand piece explaining the EU Article 13 directive...

I had a long narrative....well ok, rant   Big Grin ... on the topic of copyright laws but I deleted it.  It really doesn't matter what my pontification comes up with, the laws are bad, screwing the consumer.  The EU seems to see fit to continue their centuries of making things worse by creating more draconian laws on the issue. Poop

I completely agree. None of this stuff seems to make any logical sense but the European government and MEPs appear to have their ears sewn closed and just implement whatever new legislation they like.

George is the only person I know of from the FPV community so far who has actually posted a video on the subject of Article 13...
