Hey guys, I'm making a 210 Charpu Editon Race Quad. So far I have these parts, Acro Naze32 Flight Controller rev6, Lumenier RX2206-11 2350Kv Motor, Lumenier Mini 20A ESC w/ SimonK AutoShot, 5V/1A BEC (2-4s) and Turnigy nano-tech 1300mAh 4S 45~90C Lipo Pack. I would really like to know if they all work with each other. Thankyou • Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 Yep, they will all work, What PDB you plan using, the one that comes with the QAV 210? Yeah I'm planning to use the one that comes with the 210. • Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 (17-Aug-2016, 12:10 PM)Savage FPV Wrote: Yeah I'm planning to use the one that comes with the 210 Are you planning running FPV gear on it? If so, is a good idea to have a line filter for the fpv cam and VTX, not essential, but always a good idea. and that PDB doesnt not have one built in. I ditched mine from the QAV kit and put a Demon Core PDB in, has line filter in and bec. Im just a bit worried about the esc, The maximum Burst Current is 30A/10sec but the motors I'm running are 32A/10sec • Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 17-Aug-2016, 12:29 PM (This post was last modified: 17-Aug-2016, 01:53 PM by oyvinla.) The motors will probably not draw much more than 25A at the most in the air with 5" props. My setup with Kingkong 5045 tri and racerstar 2205 2300kv never exceeds 20A each. Remember that full throttle static thrust tests are much more power demanding than full throttle flying (about 30% less?) Ok Thankyou a lot! • Posts: 67 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 I have heard that I should have a osd, does that come built into my drone or do I need to get it separately. If I need to get it separately, what one do I pick and how do I set it up? • Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 (18-Aug-2016, 10:33 AM)Savage FPV Wrote: I have heard that I should have a osd, does that come built into my drone or do I need to get it separately. If I need to get it separately, what one do I pick and how do I set it up? An OSD is not critical to any quad, Most people want just battery voltage displayed on screen or in the goggles. No OSD is in the QAV210 kit. OSD"s do have the ability to display a lot of information onscreen or in the goggles, but for most us who Freetsyle or race do not want clutter. I had minim OSD's for a while but found they are more trouble than they are worth just for the Information I wanted. I either use a PDB with basic OSD built in or just use a hard wired low voltage battery alarm. The choice is yours if you want one or not. Google micro minimosd, here is just one example, http://www.readytoflyquads.com/micro-minimosd Or , like I said, get a PDB with built in OSD like http://www.redrotorrc.com/index.php?rout...uct_id=115 Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 18-Aug-2016, 11:19 AM (This post was last modified: 18-Aug-2016, 11:19 AM by oyvinla.) This PDB with OSD from banggood looks to be quite promising with built in current sensor: http://www.banggood.com/Realacc-HUBOSD-E...68098.html I have ordered one myself to test if I like it better than the micro minimosd. On tight builds, it is quite handy do have your osd on a pdb or on your flight controller. One thing I really like about the minimosd and mwosd firmware, is the ability to adjust the PIDs, rate and more with your controller. I got timer, voltage, current consumed and actual current shown on the bottom of my screen while flying • Posts: 67 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 18-Aug-2016, 12:55 PM (This post was last modified: 18-Aug-2016, 12:56 PM by Savage FPV.) If I do use it, do I just solder everything normally or do I have to do it a special way? Thankyou a lot, you two have been a really big help • Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 (18-Aug-2016, 12:55 PM)Savage FPV Wrote: If I chose the PDB that has OSD, what does it allow me to see on the screen opitions wise?, like battery voltage, time in air, all that stuff. Thankyou a lot, you two have been a really big help Most, but not all PDBs with OSD have a simple OSD, by simple it will have Voltage, Amps being drawn, time and low voltage flashes onscreen. No special tricks needed with them at all to wire up, Some will require you to solder a bridge or NTSC or PAL on the underside of the PDB and that is it. • Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 I would NOT recommend the MXK PDB if you ever get your eyes on one. They are hit and miss. The first one I received, the osd was not working at all and many others have the same experience. I got a replacement board from banggood. and so far it has been working, but I guess I was just lucky with that one. http://www.banggood.com/MXK-Power-Distri...31375.html Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 (18-Aug-2016, 02:09 PM)oyvinla Wrote: I would NOT recommend the MXK PDB if you ever get your eyes on one. It makes your build a whole lot easier. On my other quad I have a RROSD and there are two things I don't like: 1. The placement of the ESC pads 2. The small font size on the display My quad: RD-210 / ZMX V3 2206 2140kv / Aikon SEFM 30A / X-Racer F303 V3 / X4R-SB / Dronelab 1500 4S 50C |
