Tomoquads Katana 2
#16
A little sneak peak at how my Katana is coming. I should get the receiver tomorrow and then I'll solder everything up. This thing is badass!

SWEET   Heart
Nice looking build  Thumbs Up

Yeah, I like the motor pads; will contact you on that  High Five

At this point, I only have the frame; not sure what I want for all of the other components.
Do you have a list? Specifically, the motors and the FC stack.

Im gonna do a new build thread on this one hopefully tomorrow. The motors are HGLRC Flame 1407 3600kv. I might move to shaftless though. These are a little heavy. Im running a Flywoo Goku F722 stack as well. Never used Flywoo but people on here have said good things about it so I'm giving it a try. I would probably suggest a runcam split instead of a caddx tarsier mainly because the caddx is hard to fit in this tiny frame do to the 2 board stack. Runcam only has one board. Overall fun build man! Enjoy!

First, Thanks for the information.  High Five    I am looking forward to see your build thread and see how the Katana 2 quad flies.

The Flywoo stack is of particular interest. I have a Flywoo XBot 3 that looks really "trick", but (so far) it does not fly as good as a stock GEPRC Phantom or EMAX Tinyhawk Freestyle or any of my Phantom builds. Is it the quad or just me  Huh  I really want to like the XBot 3 and keep hoping that the next flight will be better because I really like the looks of it. Maybe I can get out today and take it for a spin.

Just an FYI, I have yet to tune or change any PID settings on anything; I am running everything as it came from the factory on all quads. Interestingly, they all fly pretty good just as they are except that the XBot 3 is a little rough compared to the others. Sad

Update on the XBot 3. I discovered that one of the motors was not running right. It must have gotten damaged on one of the first flights (not sure if I can fix it). I do have spare motors, so I just swapped it out. Now, it flies fine and is getting really good fly times (about 9 minutes or so). This has restored my faith in the Flywoo brand. I will put more packs through it and see how it holds up.

Now collecting components for my TomoQuads Katana 2 build...will post build thread when I get further along.  Big Grin

@wllmlutz, did you post a build thread for your Katana 2 build?
