R9M on a jumper TX controller
#16
Thank you. I flashed flexr9 firmware and it’s working. The radio came with standard 2.2.3 firmware. Firmware can be found on jumpertx website for the T12 plus transmitter

Has anyone got this to work with Fport ,
I have;
Jumper T12 on Flex firmware,
R9 module on FCC firmware and
R9MM on stock firmware (FCC)
It now binds but need to get Fport working so do I need Flex firmware on all 3 to use Fport?

If you want to use FLEX firmware then you will need to make sure that the R9M and R9MM are both running running FLEX firmware. In addition, if you want to use FPORT then you need to make sure you flash the FPORT firmware file to the R9MM (there are two firmware files in the ZIP file - you need the one with "Fport" in the file name).

Hi all,

sorry for necroing, but I didn't want to create a new thread with the exact same issue..

So I've got a Jumper T12 (latest OpenTX with FLEX enabled), a R9M 2019 module and a R9MM receiver, both with latest FCC firmware. I can't get them to bind. Tried it with the FLEX firmware too, no luck. There's not much I can do.. I hit BIND on the Tx, press and hold the bind button on the receiver, and plug in power. Red and green on the receiver are on, and the Tx is beeping in intervals. When I reboot the Rx, red is flashing very quickly. And that's it.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Oli

Did you load the ACCESS or ASSCT firmware on your R9M and R9MM?

Did you try by following this procedure (taken from previous topic page)? It worked for me...

  • T12 flashed with FLEXR9 firmware
  • R9M module flashed with the standard FCC firmware
  • R9MM receiver fhashed with SBUS FCC firmware
I've made a short (due to strong wind) flight test yesterday and easily reached almost 700m with residual 60dBi at 100mW that seems legit...

Thanks for helping voodoo614.

I totally missed that you have the 2019 R9M module. I think the 2019 R9M module does not work with non-Frsky radio. This was one of the move Frsky made to push out 3rd party like Jumper.

No way... Seriously?
What a shame. It's the second bad move they made after threating banggood for selling opentx equipped radios.
They won't get anything good from this policy.

You can actually use the R9M "2019" version of the module on a Jumper T16 no problem, but you need to make sure you flash it with ACCST firmware as soon as you get it because it comes pre-installed with ACCESS firmware on it which won't work with non FrSky transmitters. You can download the ACCST firmware for the R9M 2019 from the following web page...
