R-XSR no RSSI on OSD

Well, that was my assumption, I thought I would need to solder the s.port pad too. Luckly dont have too, in my case.
All my other quads was using XM+.

Wow - I give even less of a poop about FPort now.

I think you misunderstood. SBUS isn't bidirectional. It is only sending data.

Gah, I'm mixing up RX protocols and TX protocols again. I guess what I meant to say is that the RX will populate the RSSI data without having to loop the flight controller in, and the RX will still send it back as telemetry without SPort wired up?

Apologies for the thread hijack - just trying to get things straight in my mind ;-)

The ground is for dead people.

RSSI and Rxbat are natively on your radio (already mentioned by Snow). With or without telemetry. RXBAT is your radio battery, so that is obvious. RSSI is calculated by radio by how strong it is picking up the signal from the receiver. To get RSSI to the FC, you need to send it back. Using a channel does not require S. Port telemetry.

What S. Port telemetry allows you to do is send data like Vbat, current, GPS position to your radio from the FC. In addition, you can use Lua Script. With OSD, most people don't even bother anymore if they are not using Lua Script. Once you get the telemetry data to your radio, you have to setup logic switch to get voice warning. I can't remember anyone asked anything about voice warning on your radio recently. I personally like voice warning because I don't always look at the OSD. The other reason I like warning on my radio, because I can set delay to compensate for voltage sag. But I guess you can do something similar with the BF vbat_hysteresis setting. I am going off on a tangent now.

+1

This is exactly the reason I like telemetry on my transmitter. While I have all the relevant information on my OSD, I tend to find that I'm so transfixed and focused on flying that I sometimes forget to look at important elements of the OSD. The battery voltage is about the only thing I remember to look at regularly and I seem to completely forget about the RSSI. I could of course put that right in the centre of my screen, but I prefer the middle area of the screen to be clear of any clutter. So I generally end up relying on my transmitter to remind me if the RSSI is getting low.

Hi guys. New here and to the hobby. I am wanting to know what receivers are compatible with the N14? Just building a quad at the moment but if I want to buy a ready BNF what do I need to look for when selecting a receiver? Will any flysky work with this radio? Cheers all.

Any Flysky receiver that uses AFHDS 2A protocol.

Hello , sorry if i open again this thread but i have a doubt.
I have my R-xsr connected via Sbus, no Fport connected, and i use Rssi via AUX channel , and all seem ok , i connect battery and i can see change rssi value, but here start the problem , if i connect quad to betaflight via USB without battery pluggeg in my case (Diatone F722 mini) that mean rx is power off i can read 50% rssi , i repeat with RX off , i suppose because betaflight read default middle position (1500) of my channel , is normal?

Could be a good idea move to Fport and disconnect Sbus? In that case i could read telemetry without use a channel, right?

Sorry for my bad english

You probably have to set the scale in the radio.
