Hi Community, I´m struggling now a week to get the Geprc Smart HD 2.5" work with my BetaFPV Radio Lite 3 + TBS Crossfire Micro Tx Module even after a lot research in this forum. I can´t get any input of my RC in BF. Binding between the Nano Rx and the Micro Tx module seems to work fine since the green LED on both devices is constant green. The led on the Geprc F4 20A is blinking blue/green. Attached you will find the CLI "resource show all" and "dump all" output. I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance. You gave no stick movement and aux channels in Betaflight? Is you radio setup for External RF set to CRSF protocol? Also try re-updating both the Crossfire TX and RX via TBS Agent M. Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately I don´t see any stick movement or/and aux channels moving in Betaflight. I´ve just double checked and the radio is set to External RF and also using the CRSF Protocol. The Crossfire Tx and Rx is using the latest firmware (6.17) right now. I will try to re-update both devices and let you know. Cheers! • Posts: 13 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jun 2022 Reputation: 0 Even after a re-update of the TBS Crossfire Micro Tx and Nano Rx from 6.17 to 6.17 no luck and no input in Betaflight so far I also measured the cables from the receiver to the board everything seems to be fine. Any other ideas? • Posts: 13 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jun 2022 Reputation: 0 20-Jun-2022, 07:23 PM (This post was last modified: 20-Jun-2022, 07:24 PM by mastein.) In case someone need to take a closer look on the wiring: The nano rx is connected to T2 and R2 of the FC while the Vista Caddx is connected to R1 and T1. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Your wiring looks ok but can you without powering the quad, test for continuity across the 5v/G/TX/RX pads to ensure there are no shorts? • Posts: 13 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jun 2022 Reputation: 0 (20-Jun-2022, 11:22 PM)kafie1980 Wrote: Your wiring looks ok but can you without powering the quad, test for continuity across the 5v/G/TX/RX pads to ensure there are no shorts? I´m fairly new to this and I hope I tested it the right way. When I test for continuity from G pad to G pads it´s beeping, also from 5v pad to 5v pad it´s beeping but not from R1 to R2 and T1 to T2. Did I tested it this the right way? • Posts: 21,397 Threads: 593 Likes Received: 9,029 in 6,683 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 795 (21-Jun-2022, 12:05 AM)mastein Wrote: I´m fairly new to this and I hope I tested it the right way. Yes, that is the correct way to test continuity. The G pads are connected together internally by the ground plane running through the FC, as are the 5V pads which is why you (correctly) get continuity on those. You shouldn't have continuity between any two of the UART pads so those are fine also. Make sure you also have no continuity between any of the UART pads and either the ground (G) or 5V pads. Alright! Thanks a lot for the explanation. Just checked all UART pads to G and 5v pads and there is no continuity on any of them. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 I will also suggest you try soldering the Crossfire RX to another UART as a quick test. • Posts: 13 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jun 2022 Reputation: 0 Thanks for the suggestion! I desoldered the Caddx Vista from T1/R1 and switched the nano rx from T2/R2 to T1/T2. In Betaflight I´ve deactivated UART2 (serialrx off) and activated it for UART1. Unfortunately still no stick movements to see. I´ve noticed that sometimes Betaflight lost the USB connection when I click on a random tab. Then it reconnects. Does it mean something or is it more related to driver issues? I really don´t know whats left what I can do. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Do you see the channels moving on the radio when you move the sticks? Try running the Emergency firmware update on the Crossfire Nano and update back to 6.17 as a test: https://team-blacksheep.freshdesk.com/su...won-t-bind Quote:- Hold the “bind” button - Power up the receiver. The led starts to flash rapidly - Release the button for about 1-2 seconds - Push and hold the button again The green led starts to flash in a double-pattern. When it starts to flash rapidly again, you can release the button - Wait till the update is finished When the receiver finished the update it will flash slowly - Now the receiver is ready to bind You should power-cycle the receiver to avoid issues • Posts: 13 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jun 2022 Reputation: 0 22-Jun-2022, 11:10 AM (This post was last modified: 22-Jun-2022, 11:22 AM by mastein.) Try running the Emergency firmware update on the Crossfire Nano and update back to 6.17 as a test: https://team-blacksheep.freshdesk.com/su...won-t-bind I need to say that I´ll use the BetaFPV LiteRadio 3 and it has no display but when I connect the radio via USB to the BetaFPV Configurator I can see all channels moving. The values are displayed in a range between -100 and 100. I know they should be between 1000 and 1900 but I can´t change the values. It´s not really well documented in their manual how to change the range. Is this something what can cause the problem or would Betaflight display then all values at the lowest range possible? I´ll do the Emergency update and update again after it and let you know how things turn out afterwards. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Ok, I assumed you had the BetaFPV LiteRadio 3 PRO version with a screen. If you connect the radio to the BetaFPV configurator then that does not confirm that your Crossfire module is working and sending channels/data to the Crossfire receiver. Can you give details of how you connected the Crossfire TX module to the BetaFPV LiteRadio 3? You may have the Crossfire TX module bound to the Crossfire receiver but that will not confirm if the radio is actually communicating with the Crossfire TX module. • Posts: 13 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jun 2022 Reputation: 0 (22-Jun-2022, 11:45 AM)kafie1980 Wrote: Ok, I assumed you had the BetaFPV LiteRadio 3 PRO version with a screen. You may have the Crossfire TX module bound to the Crossfire receiver but that will not confirm if the radio is actually communicating with the Crossfire TX module. Unfortunately it´s not the PRO version so I can only set parameters in the BetaFPV Configurator. That´s also how I installed the CrossfireTX. I deactivated the internal module and activated the external module and switched the protocol to CRSF. When I power on the radio the LED is blinking 3 times purple which should indicate that the internal module is deactivated and the external is in use. I also thought about the possibility that the Crossfire TX might get no signal from the radio but I think there is no way in Agent M or so to check if there are valid signals? Anyways, I ordered a TBS Tango 2 yesterday and I hope that it arrives here in the next days. • |
