Caddx have announced that a new Walksnail Avatar HD VTX is going to be coming sometime soon. Details are below.

I have no idea why a VTX would need an HDMI input or an "internet" input, but maybe Caddx / Walksnail would be better off spending their time fixing all the issues with the current hardware and firmware before pumping out yet more (probably half-baked) new hardware. From the description it sounds like it might not be for FPV at all but if that is the case then why post such teasers without the key information? Caddx seem to be taking PR and marketing lessons from Orqa.

Yeah I saw this and posted the comment about focusing on the 1S vtx improvements and further development.

The HDMI input is for larger professional digital cameras to be able to be used with the Walksnail VTX.

This is a push into the commercial market. It would be nice if they had usbc instead of the crappy connectors and low file transfer speeds

I feel like this would be another missed opportunity if it's not 20x20.

So instead of stirring FPV hobby pilots up into a frenzy with vague teasers they should just be upfront and honest by explicitly stating that this new VTX is for a different market.

Not a chance. Caddx claim to listen to their customers, but the reality is that they mostly appear not to from what I can see.
