13-Oct-2020, 12:02 AM Just bought the dji air unit and goggles would like to know how to install and set it up I'm using the mama f405 flight controller on 6s 13-Oct-2020, 12:58 AM Have a read of Oscar's article below which should get you started... https://oscarliang.com/dji-fpv-system-setup 13-Oct-2020, 01:11 AM Thanks 13-Oct-2020, 01:32 AM Ok I get the jist of it so really I only need to connect the positive and negative wires since I'm not using the remote 13-Oct-2020, 01:38 AM (This post was last modified: 13-Oct-2020, 02:13 AM by SnowLeopardFPV. Edit Reason: Typo corrections. ) You'll need the grey and white wires connected to a spare UART if you want Betaflight OSD information in the DJI Goggles (which you will), then switch on MSP for that port in Betaflight Configurator. You can leave the yellow and brown wires disconnected because those are for the SBUS RC link which are only needed if you're using the DJI Controller. 13-Oct-2020, 01:41 AM Awesome Yeah I just found his diagram thanks agsin I flew it and it's amazing I crashed to and one of the antennas flew off Do u think the air unit will be ok ? Took about 5mins to find the drone 14-Oct-2020, 07:08 AM The antenna probably just unplugged, so should be OK then (unless it was ripped out at an angle or had a sharp bend). Have a look at ways of securing the antenna so that doesn't happen easily. 14-Oct-2020, 08:50 AM As long as the end of the MMCX connector plug on the antenna hasn't snapped off inside the Air Unit you should be OK. They seem to have a habit of doing that and if it happens it's a PITA and almost impossible to get the broken off piece out of the socket, which means having to replace (solder on) a new MMCX socket to the Air Unit circuit board. 14-Oct-2020, 02:24 PM Yeah they just popped out I have to try and find them today but I noticed my recording from the air unit will not play back on my phone for some reason it plays sound but the video freezes I can skip to the next frame but it sticks on that frame too but sound keeps playing Do you know if the air unit can interfere with the crsf my drone has failsafe twice since I installed it I replaced the antenna on the crsf and it may have made it worse 15-Oct-2020, 01:34 PM The frequency of the DJI Air Unit is 5.8GHz and the frequency of the Crossfire system is 900MHz, so the frequencies are far enough apart that they shouldn't interfere with each other. How have you mounted the Crossfire antenna (I assume you're using the Immortal T)? Maybe some photos of your quad and how you've mounted the Air Unit and Crossfire antennas would be useful. 15-Oct-2020, 02:20 PM yeah I was afraid that's wagt u would say lol keep in mind the air unit was an after thought I have no room or way o mount it different I think u can make out where the receiver is mounted with the ziptie it had the clear shrink wrap om it until I changed the antenna yesterday 15-Oct-2020, 02:22 PM 15-Oct-2020, 02:37 PM is there a way to tell if its the rx or the tx ? |
