All the idiots stopped buying trolleys full of bog roll when the shops imposed buying limits, so we no longer have to use leaves and grass. Lee speaks with what I would call a public school accent. I speak more like a commoner from the countryside Big Grin

Forget RSSI with Crossfire. It's useless. Just use the LQ value.

To get LQ readouts on your Taranis, set it up as per the following TBS guide...

https://team-blacksheep.freshdesk.com/su...for-opentx

For the tracks I suggest you use "siglow.wav" (signal low) for 80% and "sigcrt.wav" (signal critical) for 70%. Those are the tracks I use.

To get LQ into the OSD of your DJI FPV Goggles, do the following:-
  1. Power up the Crossfire Nano RX.
  2. Switch on your Taranis.
  3. Run the Crossfire LUA script on your Taranis and select Nano RX from the list.
  4. Scroll down to Channel Map section.
  5. If you're using 12 Channel mode then go to "Dst.Ch. 12", otherwise go to "Dst.Ch. 8".
  6. Set the value for that channel to be "LQ".
  7. Exit the Crossfire LUA script menus.
  8. Connect the USB cable to your flight controller and run Betaflight Configurator.
  9. Connect Betaflight Configurator to the FC.
  10. Go to the Receiver tab and set the RSSI Channel to either "AUX8" if you're running in 12 Channel mode, or "AUX4" if you're running in 8 Channel mode and save the changes.
  11. Go to the OSD tab and make sure the "RSSI value" is ticked and position it somewhere on the preview screen. You can untick the "Link Quality" item as it can't currently be used by the DJI FPV Goggles.
  12. In your DJI FPV Goggles make sure you've selected the "Custom" option for the OSD.
The LQ value will now be displayed against the RSSI indicator in your DJI FPV Goggles. The indicator will still be labelled as an RSSI value, but it will actually contain the Crossfire LQ value (0-99) instead.

You better fix your failsafe issue. You might battle to find it in the middle of the ocean Tongue

I can't remember if this was mentioned but what power are you using? I think default is 25mw (snow will correct me if wrong). That should still be fine for flying in the general area but going behind obstacles/trees will degrade the signal quickly. You can up it quite a bit, but better to first try fix the actual issue.

I have rssi in my osd now I took a test fight it was horrible
I cant belive how bad the values were I can yell further then I could probably fly im getting frsky range lol I think I boiled it down to a crash that started this but it seems it may be a little worse then yesterday I checked and resoldered one connection and replaced the antenna on the rx my feeling is it could also be the antenna on the tx

Changed the rx and the antenna on the tx no difference I can fly behind something and see the 99 drop to as low as In the 80s half a block away

How often do the micro TX go bad ?

It's not very common but not impossible for you to have bad hardware. I would try replacing the Crossfire Nano RX before looking at the TX.

When using the DJI Air Unit it doesn't matter because that setting only has an effect on the OSD chip used for analogue video which you're not using.
