TPU XT90 w/ Capacitor Holder
#1
Evening Everyone....

I was wondering if anyone happened to have a file for a XT90 Connector, that also has a sleeve to hold a 1000uf / 35V Cap ?

I found one that would kinda work, but its for a XT60. I was thinking I could alter the file I have for the XT60, via CURE.  But unfortunately, Im kinda new to the whole 3D Printing World. I will attach a photo of the one I downloaded off Things Universe, And hopefully someone has one that's usable...

Anyway,

Thanks Again.....

-Cole

Oh Also, My objective is to have my cap attached to the XT90 Plug, So I dont need to attach it to the ESC.
I screwed up initially and forgot to solder the Cap onto the SpeedyBee 50A ESC when I 1st started the build, And saw a guy on here who had the cap
inside of a 3D printed holder, And loved how clean it was...

Anyway...

-Thanks

Question: do you want to have a capacitor installed so that you can say you have a capacitor installed on this build... or, do you want a capacitor installed that does anything?

Im trying to install a cap inline with my XT90 plug, Then shrink wrap the both together.

Or have a Flexible holder, that also has a printed circular slot that hold's the cap in place..

I posted a pic to describe what Im after above...
The pic is an XT60 w/a cap..
But Im hoping to find something similar that holds an XT90 and a cap at the end of the power cord/wire

If capacitor is installed at the end of the wire next to where you plug in power, what does the capacitor do for you other than grab some inrush current when you first plug in so that you don't hear it spark? You are not gaining much anything else than adding weight right?

If capacitor is installed near the source of voltage spikes, i.e. right at the ESC, it is able to mute those spikes. It can not do that out at the end of the power plug right...

I understood what you said the first time, and the second time. I am not trying to be rude with my questions so please don't take it that way.

If it is tight for space where you want to install the cap, you can solder on short-ish say 18-20AWG silicone wire legs @ ~1/2"-3/4" to gain extension/flexibility.

Is adding a capacitor that weighs a few grams really relevant on whatever he is using an XT90 to power. It's obviously not a 65mm whoop where weight is a massive issue? The fact he needs that amount of power handling suggests a massive craft with many kg of thrust.

I see this bandied about on many threads. So if you build a quad that generates say 4kg of thrust, do you really worry about a 10g component? I'm genuinely interested if people do.

Wheather its at the ESC side, or if its at the battery connection (XT60/90) whats the difference? The unit dosent see it any differently being further away?

I get what your saying, but as to my understanding placement diddnt have any varation in measurment or ability to do its job..?..

Hence me wanting to put the cap where the battery enters the picture, but in either scenario, when that objective completes its task, it still hits its objective at the same time???

No??
