Received a nice present from RDQ today - A couple of Runcam Thumb Pros, Emax Eco II 2306 1900kv motors, Xing 1404 3600kv motors, and an RDQ Source One v4 frame - Time to get building! I am using a 'mixed' FC/ESC stack from parts I had laying around: ESC: Tekko32 45A Mini FC: Holybro Kakute H7 Will be running a Crossfire Nano for RX, and 6s 1300mAh lipos I have a couple more small things to take care of, and wire in the Thumb to a spare UART, and hopefully in the morning I can take it on it's first flight (It's currently 12:25am here LOL) Posts: 1,387 Threads: 119 Likes Received: 1,421 in 737 posts Likes Given: 1,097 Joined: Jun 2019 Reputation: 42 Nice mate. It puts my rats nest of wires builds to shame. Dangerous operations. Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about. I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose. Eeek. And ouch, and fire hazard. Maybe zip tie your power wires to a standoff with a bit of slack? Dangerous operations. Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about. Agree with Lemony, I always zip tie my battery leads to a standoff column. You know, I have never had a battery eject. I did have one get knocked out upon hitting the ground, but it stayed connected probably due to the zip tie. Yeah, this was a big 6S begger on a heavy 7 inch quad. It hit the ground pretty hard. I am surprised nothing broke. • Posts: 1,843 Threads: 203 Likes Received: 346 in 264 posts Likes Given: 306 Joined: May 2020 Reputation: 11 08-Aug-2022, 07:03 AM (This post was last modified: 08-Aug-2022, 07:03 AM by Rob3ddd.) I agree with previous posts. A strain relief for LiPo lead wires is highly recommended. I like using some tape around a stand-off or frame as in picture. The tape can help cover up any sharp edges on carbon or metal if stand-off is used. It took two zip ties on this frame. They serve two purposes, They keep wires out of props and also act as a very effective strain relief.
