Hahaha I like how now that we have something better than the fatsharks, everyone is bashing the HDOs, which were the industry standard like in 1950 (lol). Since the 03Os are simply better in every way, people going back to the HDOs now have seen the "light" (in the bright screens of the 03Os)
If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!

Hi guys,

Sorry for the bump - but are your opinions still the same? haha.
I am getting ready to get goggles and after lots of digging I was already leaning forwards HDOs. (just because other HDs seems to be discontinued.)

Also I was wondering about range, since I liked the idea that rapidfire + fatsharks are capable of having good signal flying a lot on bandos where there is quite a bit obstacles around.
But I guess this was already answered, that built in vrx is very good / similar.

@Oscar, are you using them still as your primary goggles?

p.s. probably i will only order them after a week or two, so i am pretty sure promotion sale for skyzones will be ended.

I would take into consideration the DJI HD FPV kit. The price of the DJI kit (without the transmitter) is quite close to a HDO + Rapidfire combo but the difference between the image quality is day and night...

I don't have neither the Fatshark with Rapidfire module nor the DJI FPV system, but from what i've seeing the digital video signal can't handle too much multipads or obstacles. Just for that reason i don't think i'm getting a pair, not any time soon or at least not in this version.

I've seen otherwise in quite a few instances, maybe one Bardwell video too?  Can't remember but anyway, in open line of sight your opinion might bare-out but in difficult environments the SkyZone falls apart comparatively.  I'm not saying they're not good because they look fantastic but the Rx in them is absolutley not as good as a Rapidfire module in a pair of Fatsharks. Or an Owl module for that matter. Smile

It appears the skyzones have just as good reception to me, at least when people tested them out in the areas they are used to gettting signal lost it looks to me skyzones don't lose any edge regarding when comparing to the HDOs. Even things in the screen look more up front, why is that? I always dislike the distance in which things looked from on HDOs(even with prescription diaopters. This goggles solve my issues I will most likely buy. The ONLY thing I wish it had was 16:9 then it would be perfect.

Even better now that u can buy a receiver bay for the skyzones so you can put rapid fire in them if desired to spend the 150$

The new module bay would work with module that require extra power like RapidFire or the TBS Fusion?
