Kindle hd8 2017 otg betaflight
#1
Ordered a cable after looking online for betaflight alternatives not having a decent computer. I can get to a computer at my friends but want betaflight on something when I want it and can’t get there.
On top of that free rider I believe is on the android market.

So after some reading apparently the hd8 does support otg, so for 2 bucks I ordered a cable to try out and see what happens.
Will keep everyone posted, but flashing google play on the hd8 was super easy, and the potential for a portable betaflight machine, as well as a potential taranis simulator on the go makes this worth trying.
Worst case it doesn’t, and I’ll probably find a used x38 windows tablet, or a rpi3 because apparently on the chromium apps preloaded is betaflight already on it, so that’s my next outlet.

Like I said, I’ll keep everyone posted, or if anyone has already done this, let me know.

For what it’s worth, the kindle hd8 is pretty cheap yet fairly fast. It runs betaflight, hopefully I can connect as well!
Going to try to install the android flight simulator and see if that works, if so, I can (hopefully) connect my taranis and flysky into that and run simulators mobile when I’m out and about.
Battery life is easily 6 hours or more when playing n64 games on the thing, so I imagine 4 to 5 hours on simulator and pretty much the day for betaflight.
Also my flysky i6 came in today, (friend sent it to me) still waiting on the taranis I bought, that’s from China so probably several weeks.
The flysky is SO MUCH better than the q90c tx, as well as the gimbals feel amazing. Can’t wait to get something to plug it in to!
