The thing is, with the ImmersionRC Ghost and Flysky FRM302 2.4GHz LoRa spread spektrum systems on the market, who in their right mind would bother to invest in the FrSky ACCESS system which still has crap range and penetration just like the ACCST system? Surely the ACCESS protocol is now also dead before FrSky even managed to launch more than 2 of their Archer series of receivers.
What??? You don't like the Immortal T? Granted that the 900MHz antennas are pretty long compared to the 2.4GHz antennas so easier to mount and keep out of the props. Keep an eye on Pawel's range testing of the LoRa 2.4GHz systems which is a bit more scientific than most of the other tests you will likely see.
Speaking of antennae, in the Ghost Manual (attached), it is mentioned that during development, testers used this flexible stick-on antenna. I picked up some from Digikey and plan to do a little range testing of my own (JB-style, not Pawel...) $2.47 each: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e...ND/2332703
Hmmm that's not much different from the 900mhz antenna aside from just being smaller. I was kind of hoping for the classic Frsky whisker antennas you could easily mount to arms and such. Wouldn't those antennas work with the same efficacy since they are both 2.4?

Not sure about that, but the stick-on isn't what comes with the Atto Rx. The one shipped is the Micro-tee ("cutie" for short). it is much smaller than the immortal T. Closer to the miniMortal T
You don't have to use the micro-tee antenna with the Ghost receivers. You can fit and use any 2.4GHz antenna you like including the whisker type antennas.
Well, I got four R9MM receivers and a module, so I am ok with that {for now} . That is plenty to get my 5k badge {it only takes one}. Since I wire the Rx receiver with a connector, I can easily move them from quad to quad for long range runs. Beyond that, the XM+ is working for me for short range...no problem. Since i am only using SBUS, they can both use the same harness. SWEET .
I am watching these products for the future. I know that TBS Crossfire has pretty much been the "go to" product for long range, however, I am interested in the 2.4 Ghz LoRa technology. I am good for now, but keeping an "eye" on the future.
Did anyone who ordered from a US vendor get shipping notification of their Ghost purchase yet? It seems that people who ordered from Banggood and were given an original shipping date of 2nd September have now been told a new estimated shipping date of the end of September. I don't know if this is because of production problems/delays with Ghost, or if it is just Banggood playing their silly games again with fictitious shipping dates so they can get people's money into their bank account.

I ordered first day available at GetFPV. No notice, but I've been following the IRC Facebook page. Tony wanted to get feedback from testers to do final tweaks to the firmware.
He announced yesterday that the final firmware has been released to production staff, and they hope to ship to vendors on Wednesday (9/9/20).
Evidently, this applies only to the starter kit. Individual Atto receivers will follow "soon". He also announced a new receiver that sounds like it will ship at the same time - "the tiny Zepto receiver" (Haven't seen any more on that yet....)
After the catastrophic release of RapidFIRE and all the issues that had when ImmersionRC first put it out, I think they are probably being much more cautious with the release of Ghost because they probably don't want to be in that situation again. The firmware needs to be 100% watertight so people don't get upset again at being used as beta testers. So I can fully understand why they delayed the release slightly.
Looking forward to some proper feedback from independent pilots in the community when people start to get them

I stand corrected. Someone pointed out that the Zepto was shown in JB's video. 10mm x 10mm full range.
I just realised what the perfect transmitter setup would be. A TBS Tango 2 (or the full size version when they release it for those who prefer large transmitters) with a Ghost Lite module in the back. So then you get the best of both worlds. 900MHz Crossfire for your full size and/or long range quads, and 2.4GHz Spread Spektrum Ghost for your smaller quads and micros where you want a really tiny receiver
Maybe my next transmitter will be a Tango 2 (preferably the full size version with a larger screen) rather than a RadioMaster / Jumper / RadioKing
Subscribed to this thread. I was planning to go crossfire later in the year so now I'll keep an eye on this Ghost alternative. Hope they offer some good deals for the winter! Santi
