Never thought of such a thing. We are not building NASA space shuttles and rovers Smile

Would you elaborate and express your thoughts and concerns.

It will be good to have your opinions in this thread.

I will say, if you watch JJRotoGeek's video in post #4,
he does mention anti-static precautions, but doesn't use them
when building quads.

I have been soldering electronics for over 5 decades,
never used any anti-static precautions, and
never had any issues.
Go figure  Huh

I used to use an anti-static tethered wrist band when I first started working on computers. I stopped bothering with it decades ago and just make sure that I touch something grounded real quick before I pick up a circuit board.
Haven’t fried anything yet, even when handling IC’s. (Knock on wood)
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

I think it really depends on your area or if you have gas heat for example that dries the room out. But yes, in the two decades I worked in an electronic repair shop the techs never used them.

I'm sure things might be different if the gear we were working on was valued in the five digit range.

2022-03-13 Update:  video added to   POST #4

After giving much thought to the concept of static electrical discharge from the human body
and the use of some form of "Anit-Static" protection. I have edited POST #2 to include a
word on this subject.
