Hello intofpv ! Couple questions!
#1
Hey all just wanted to introduce myself. Names Scott. Looks like yall have a wonderful forum going and I'm excited to join in. I used to be heavy into rc cars awhile back and felt like a needed a new place to dump my money lol. Only flown a few cheap drones my friends had, kids model stuff non fpv. I've got a arris c250 drone combo with a flysky transmitter and fatshark recon v3 goggles coming in a few days. I really wish I hit this forum before ordering so I'm wondering as a newby how far will this fly sky tx and recon goggles take me? I was hoping im not gonna have to upgrade them too soon?
Thank you

Welcome to the forum Smile

What type of flying are you intending on doing? If it's short range close proximity / freestyle flying then the kit you have will work just fine. If you want to start venturing out to more than 1km then you are going to need a different RC link system. The FatShark Recon V3 goggles don't have diversity but they will be fine for close proximity flying with an omni-directional antenna fitted to them. You will also be able to use them for longer range flying (if you change your RC link system), but you will need to fir a directional patch antenna.

Thanx for the quick reply. Just some freestyle close range I guess. Would like to race them as thats what I did when I was into rc cars, trophy trucks mostly. I feel I've got a learning curve a mile long before thats close to happening tho. I just wanted to jump far enough in that my equipment was swappable/ reusable and not get caught with a proprietary quad that'll only except their own manufactured parts.. I love to tinker and upgrade things soo yea.

You'll ultimately end up upgrading your gear as time goes on anyway but what you have should do you just fine while you are learning and the gear you bought is cheap enough that if you don't get on with the hobby then you haven't wasted a ton of cash. If however you do get sucked into FPV then prepare to wave goodbye to your bank balance Big Grin I'm sure it was probably the same with your RC car hobby, but FPV certainly does seem to have a habit of regularly emptying your wallet Whistling Big Grin

Welcome  Smile

I totally agree with SnowLeopardFPV  Wink

You might get sucked in,
your bank account might take a hit,
you might no longer have free time,
but it will be a FUN journey  Smile
