Wiring on-board DVR
#1
I want to try the HMDVR-S on my GEPRC Dolphin, but I'm having trouble figuring out what goes where. Specifically:

1) Where do I get the video signal from? I don't see a V out pad on the VTX. Maybe there's a way to get it via the pinouts on the VTX, but it's not clear from GEPRC's wiring diagrams. Ideally, I'd feed the DVR video without the OSD, but easier is better.
2) Where do I get power? I've got a buzzer connected, but can I double up on those pads?

You have to split the video signal that is coming out of the camera if you don't want to record the OSD. Or split it at the VTX if you want the OSD recorded. So basically, solder the video in from DVR to either the VIN or VOUT on the FC. But remember to leave the wire that is already there connected.

If you want the video feed without OSD data recorded then take a feed from either the "Vio" or "Vin" pins on the GEP-VTX200-Whoop VTX. This is the raw video feed before it goes through an OSD chip on the FC. As for 5V and GND to the HMDVR-S, you can take a feed from the any of the 5V or GND pad on the VTX or the FC.

Hey, I got it working. Now I just need to figure out where to put it...?

Good news. There's not a lot of space in the Dolphin so you might have to mount it on the bottom. Maybe using a custom 3D printed mount.

Hi paddle2thesea,

I realize that the Dolphin and the Phantom are not the same, however, check out this DVR mount. Yeah, its not 3D printed, but it is cheap and it works at least on the Phantom. Thing is, you can fabricate a mount from "free" plastic and bolt it outside the main frame off the tail like a GPS unit. Anyway, food for thought.  Thinking
