Edit Reason: Corrected typo in the subject title. ) Hi I am building my first quad, I have pretty everything under control (I hope) but for the wiring of the Mamba F722 with either a FrSky mini or slim, I have he two radios. The der wire goes to 5V, Black wire goes to Ground. then wich one to use for Sbus and or F port? Dod you have any wiring info or diagram for these two items? I tried to contact Diatone, but did not get an answer, Looked around this forum also. Nada. Niente, Rien, Que Dale! Edit Reason: Made some corrections. ) Flash the latest version of the FLEX firmware to both the R9M module and the R9 Mini/Slim receiver. On the R9 Mini/Slim make sure you use the FPORT version of the FLEX firmware. Make sure the version of OpenTX flashed to your transmitter has the "flexr9m" option ticked. Then make the following connections:- - S.Port pad on the R9 Mini/Slim to the TX2 pad on the F722S.
- 5V pad on the R9 Mini/Slim to a 5V pad on the F722S.
- GND pad on the R9 Mini/Slim to a GND pad on the F722S.
I suggest you use pads for 5V and GND that are in the same row of pads as TX2 to keep the wiring neat. Then run the following commands in the CLI... Code: serial 0 0 115200 57600 0 115200 serial 1 64 115200 57600 0 115200 set serialrx_provider = FPORT set serialrx_halfduplex = ON set serialrx_inverted = ON save

If you are using SBUS, solder to the "SBUS" pad on the FC - it is just left of the cobra image on the left side of the FC (colored green in the linked diagram). You'll notice you've got a 5V and GND right near SBUS to keep the wiring neat like Snow said. If you are using FPORT, it's just as Snow described tapping it to a TX pad on the FC. Technically you can use any unused TX pad but Snow suggested TX2 because as with SBUS, it's near a 5V and GND pad for clean wiring. • Posts: 11 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 0 Fabulous, thanks this is all I needed. • Posts: 16 Threads: 7 Likes Received: 3 in 2 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2019 Reputation: 0 Hi I just finished setting it up and finally it is working, all I need to do is tidy up the wires, install the top plate, check the camera setting and give it a try. Hope it flies. Thanks again for all the help Posts: 863 Threads: 43 Likes Received: 286 in 202 posts Likes Given: 12 Joined: Nov 2018 Reputation: 5 Well, get it in the air already, hehe. The radio, the Mamba fc F722 and the R9M mini are wired and working. I have telemetry showing up on my radio (Jumper T16). The GPS is also woking, and showing up on Betaflight. I had the camera (Caddx Turbo micro) directly connected to the VTX (ground, 5 volt, video), the VTX was then connected to the 9v pad and the ground one next to it on the right side of the fc. I got video on my goggles and screen. But then I realized I was not getting on the video any of the telemetry I selected in Beyaflight. I found out that I need to have the camera and the VTX both connected to the FC in order to get telemetry on the screen, or goggles I plan to connect the camera to the pads: ground, 5v, and cam, then the vtx connected to the 9v, ground and tX3 (for video) on the right side of the FC. But, but, I am left with an audio white wire from Camera, and also a smart audio vire on the VTX. Where do I connect this two wires on the FC in order to get audio? Any idea? No idea on audio but the smartaudio connects to RX3 which is right next to the vid pad in the diagram shown above. Once connected go into ports in Betaflight and enable smartaudio on UART3 and all should be good. I had a look at your picture and your wiring looks wrong. The camera connects to the pads right next to the esc plug at the front of the pcb. The pad labelled CAM is where the camera should be connected to. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (10-Jan-2020, 06:53 AM)UrbanJungle1966 Wrote: No idea on audio but the smartaudio connects to RX3 which is right next to the vid pad in the diagram shown above. Smartaudio is connected to UART TX not RX. • Posts: 760 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 352 in 254 posts Likes Given: 490 Joined: May 2019 Reputation: 12 (10-Jan-2020, 08:09 AM)voodoo614 Wrote: Smartaudio is connected to UART TX not RX. Yes sorry didn't have my glasses on. TX3 is where it is connected to which is right next to the VID pad. • Posts: 16 Threads: 7 Likes Received: 3 in 2 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2019 Reputation: 0 (10-Jan-2020, 06:53 AM)UrbanJungle1966 Wrote: No idea on audio but the smartaudio connects to RX3 which is right next to the vid pad in the diagram shown above. Thanks, I disconnected the camera and the VTX, I will try tomorrow to rewire them correctly. Thanks To get OSD, you have to wire the camera signal through the FC. To wire camera, yes you are correct. So you camera can take 4-40V. Why don't you use the 9V next to the CAM. So 9V, ground and CAM. The wire wire is audio. Your camera has a built in microphone. You normally wire the audio wire straight to the VTX if it has audio input. If you don't have an audio input or do not care for audio, then you can ignore the white audio wire. You Smartaudio question was asked above. Smartaudio to free UART TX. • |
