You could get a VNA and analyze your antennas to establish their tuned frequency but that's a lot of work and may not work in the end if you go out to a new spot with a tuned antenna for a particular frequency and there is noise/interference on that frequency in that locality. Most channels come in full of static, and out of the ones that give me a video image it always seems to be A4 that works best. Sometimes B4. No idea why 4 always comes in clear while the others aren't. So I just stick with good ol' A4. Wifi on 5.8GHz around you: Better stay on R8 DJI pilots around you: Do not use R6 Better user lower frequency channels as they have more output power and vice versa Run a spectrum analyzer if your video receiver module (VRX) on your goggles has one (and calibrate your VRX) Never user Autoscan on your goggles The above are things we can easily control. Try and understand the FPV Frequency chart (here is one by 5zero7 RC): If you have the cash the get a RF power meter like the one from Immersion RC to understand your VTX output powers on various bands/channels and a VNA to estimate the best tuning frequency for your antennas. (I still wonder how much will we gain from this). I only ever fly alone so I've never had a need (or been forced) to switch to anything else. Now done. I couldn't put "Raceband 7" between 6 and 8 because there is no way to edit the users who voted for a specific poll option which gets recorded by the position number of the option in the list and not by the name, so I've had to add the missing / new options to the end. Can anyone explain to me what is Raceband, and how is it different from the other channels? I use digital, and just recently got into analog for some toothpicks. I run on A4 because that one has the biggest "bar" in my Foxeer Wildfire and gives me the best image. But seeing how many people use Raceband I am wondering if I should be trying that. How is it different from the other A-L channels? When I am flying my digital quads, I use Channel 1 - 50mbps mode. Low Latency, Focus mode off. • Posts: 1,312 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 832 in 504 posts Likes Given: 372 Joined: Jul 2018 Reputation: 51 F7 for life! The ground is for dead people. Some of the different bands use the same frequencies, but the "Raceband" band was specifically designed for racing where the frequencies are spaced apart as equally as possible with enough of a gap between each of them so you can get 8 pilots in the air at the same time with the least amount of risk from a band/channel on the Raceband band overlapping with and interfering with another pilot's video feed. I'll just be sticking to ol' faithful A4 then for analog, and Channel 1 for digital. • |
