Walksnail exposure settings
#1
Is there a setting to make walksnail cameras not dynamically adjust exposure?
I’m using an HD Pro, and it’s great at dusk and in the dark, but, anytime I’m flying towards a light source the image darkens and I can’t see where I’m going until I turn away.
Also, anytime I go from light to dark, there’s also a delay until things brighten up enough to be visible.

It’s a big problem given that I have multiple light sources on my property, as do the neighboring properties.

Anytime I do a power loop or whatnot, I’m suddenly plunged into darkness for a bit. That’s a real good way to end up crashing.

Have you tried setting the camera values manually?   Like the EV value?  I don't have any HD pro cams so not sure I'm sorry mate.

I’ve tried increasing and decreasing the ev value, it doesn’t seem to make a difference with it deciding to darken when I don’t want or need it to. Sad

OK. fair enough. There seems to be more settings available with the new 34.. beta. Hopefully being able to configure WDR will come through soon. Have you tried posting in the WS group on FB?

Nah, while I do follow the ws user Facebook group, I try my best to not actually engage with those people, because like the HDZero facebook group, it tends to be a bunch of fanboys that have this bs attitude that I just can’t stand.

I did reach out to Caddx via Facebook messenger, and they’re pretty good at responding- if they tell me a solution I’ll certainly post it here.

I haven’t tried the latest beta yet, I might give it a try and see if it opens up any options that could help.

Caddx says, “We have camera parameters for a shutter that are under development”.

So I guess the answer to my question is no, there isn’t currently a setting to fix my issue, but, they are working on it. Cool, I can deal with that.

Yeah I posted the question for you. Let’s see if users have anything to say. Good to know it’s in the works.

I’ve found the ws group to be ok to good with the attitudes. Actually see more complaints about caddx not fixing existing issues versus new features and models.

Do you have the same firmware versions in both goggles/VRX and the VTX ? I had some really long exposure changes when they were mismatched.

Thanks, ph2t. My tolerance for people is low these days, so I find it’s just best that I don’t engage on the facebook. Tongue

Quadflyer, same versions, I’m currently on the newest stable release, but will try the newest beta later this week.

My Walksnail V1 shows the exact same behavior. Until now I thought I am the only one having this issue. Is there a solution?

I watched a few Youtube videos and these systems (HD V2 and HD Pro) seem not to have this issue.
