Vtx Noise only when Controller is on
#1
Hello, i am new to Fpv.

My Setup:

Geprc Cinelog 25
Frsky r-xsr
Jumper T-lite
Betafpv VR01 Googles

My Vtx workes perfectly fine, but if i turn on my Controller i get a lot of noise.
Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/mGMP356JTeE
I ve watched Joshua´s Video, but non of the fixes worked for me. (Maybe because i dont use Crosfire)

I hope someone can help me.
Thanks

And what is the image like when the three, Goggles, Quad and Tx are NOT jammed up against each other, like at distances when you would fly??

I had the same bands on my 1S toothpick and had to replace the Crossfire mini immortal t antenna to a full size antenna. Eventually I replaced the Crossfire rx with an ELRS rx (ceramic antenna).

Twist and turn all wires. Keep the receiver and vtx as far away as possible. Experiment with rx antenna placement and orientation. Since the rx is 2.4ghz avoid any wires lengths of 31mm on the build.

I dont use Crossfire, but i will check this with the 31mm cables.

I know you are running a FrSKY R-XSR receiver but any system that transmits telemetry back to the radio can cause this issue.

I ve tried turning off telemetry (in the Controller+ Betaflight) but it didnt help.

I ve mesured the length of the Video cable an it is around 31 mm. So i will increase it, so it isnt the same as the wavelenght of 2.4 GHz

So i increased the video cable lenght but it didn´t change anything. I even tried it with another camera but it didnt help.

Sooooo i´ve figgured out now, that these interferences do not have to do with the reciver or the vtx.

The interference also appers, if only the Controller and the Googles are on. While the drone is off.

Soo the Controller is probably sending out Signals at 5.8GHz although the transmitter only needs 2.4GHz. Any ideas, how i can stop this.

In that case you might just have a noisy TX on the radio but video signals get such bands when there is a transmitter near by even if its not on 5.8GHz. There is no real solution to this.

Even wifi broadcasting at 2.4GHz can cause such an effect on video feet.

I still feel the original issue you have reported is related to the receiver/antenna combo. Try holding the antenna or the receiver with your hand and probably the bands will disappear.

I ve found a fix.

I am using the lowest or the highest Vtx frequency cannel.

So i just use E 3/4 or E8

My Controller is probably sending out 5.8 GHz interference frequencies.

So iam just using the lowest or the highest frequency of my Vtx.

Thanks
