GepRc Vtx 600mW not working/ not turning on
#1
Hi,
i have two Geprc 600mW vtx (i think from an geprc stable pro). The first Vtx was build into my geprc cinlog 25. I installed this vtx into my new drone with an speedybee f405 mini. During the first flight i slightly touched the ground (video), which killed my camera. I replaced the camera, but I still didnt recive any signal. So i thought the vtx is also killed. I bought the same vtx again and tried it, but it also didnt work.

Both vtx get hot while the drone is on, but i dont get a signal in my googles(no video, no osd, no black screen, just the normal background noise). The vtx has 3 leds to show which chanel, band and power settings it has. I dont know if these should also be on, while controlling the vtx via irc tramp, or if they are only on while controlling the vtx settings via the button. But these LEDs are not on. In the betaflight vtx menu it says that the vtx is not ready.

I tried different uarts, but it didnt work. (always connected to tx pads)

What can i do?
Are both vtx broken?
Is it possible, that irc tramp shuts the whole vtx off (not pit mode, but completly off)?

At a guess you shorted something out. The ground was maybe damp or wet. Try wiring the cam to the VTX directly, ie, skip wiring to the FC or if you have a VTX where the cam goes to the VTX which then sends it to the FC, then join the Video Out and In wires together and power up. If you get video once again, you have killed the OSD chip on the FC. You will have to get voltages via Telemetry through your radio or replace the FC.

Also make sure you have gummies in between all PCB's. Carbon fibre conducts electricity.

The GEPRC Stable Pro VTX is for connecting to the Stable stack and has pins come out the bottom. If you want to use it with another board, make sure you insulate those pins so they do not short out against the frame, other boards, or any conductive materials. Also that VTX is powered by 5v, did you power it with 5v? I cannot see any LEDs on the product photo, but if it does have them then typically they should light up when it is powered up, even if it is in pit mode. And per the manual it seems to use Tramp protocol.

I have tried to connect the camera directly to the VTX, but it didnt change anything. The VTX is not touching the carbon fibre.

My Vtx is not fully the same as in this stack, but similar (extra jst sh connector, only one button, addidtionall LEDs). My vtx has pads for the connection to the stack, but there are no pins. I have connected the VTX to 5v and set the protocol to Tramp, but it doesnot work.
