Tyro 79
#1
I have been planning a 3" build and then I get this email from BangGood

Tyro 79    For $80.00 that is a lot of parts. For my limited flying skills at this point I may be better off with this than a $150-$200 build, I have the Tyro 99 and was quite impressed with what I got for $100.00.

What to do, what to do.....

I know that UAV futures has a review on the 99 version.

The 79 looks like a Jalpalura.

Wow this is the third time I have replied, lets see if this one goes through...

Sadly, it usually takes over a month for me to get stuff from BG. By then we will probably have heard more about the 79, I hope it is good.

My indoor whoop'n has been going well, the other day I made it all around the house without hitting anything !! A real milestone for me. Blush

With some luck I will be ready for the 79 and 99 by springtime.

Not sure if yours has arrived yet but a couple more reviews have now appeared. I believe Stew is due to do one but he's sick and out of action at the moment so Grumpy Trev has stepped into the void and done a couple of short videos on it. And there's another full build review by NJ Tech along with a comparison to the Tyro 99.

Thanks Snow ,Those reviews look pretty good.
Mine has made it to the port of Los Angeles, so another week or so. We got about 8" of snow last night so no outdoor flying for awhile for me.

It really amazes me that they sell it for so cheap, this is about what I paid for the Mobula7.

Edit: just came in from shoveling snow, make that 14" ( 35cm for those of you in countries that use such numbers Smile )

Stew is now back to full health and part 1 of his review (the build) just dropped. Part 2 (flights)  will apparently be next week.

In his own words, "the camera is absolute garbage" so maybe that is something that will probably have to be upgraded at the very least. His pros and cons (mostly cons) are at 08:42 in the video.

Mine has made it to Indiana, one state over from mine. I could still have it this week. If so it would be the fastest I have ever gotten anything from BG.
The camera on my 99 is pretty bad too. Also on the 99 my VTX burnt up on 25mw about the 10th time I plugged it in. I replaced it with an AKK.

Absolutley amazing. I have never gotten anything from BG this fast, under 2 weeks.

Funny though, I wanted this to be ready for spring so I figured with 6 weeks shipping and a nice slow build I would be ready. But no, It came in record time when I didn't need it too.

Had I needed it in a hurry........

Tyro79 speed run Big Grin Can you guess what the top speed was?

Spoiler (highlight the text in this whole line to see the answer, or just watch the video): Coincidence or not? 79mph LOL

Andy's full build and setup video of the Tyro79 is also HERE.

Hello people,
like my first quad I bought the tyro79, and after some self-learning I came to try to make improvements.
I'm trying to fix the VTX, I received the updated one,
but I have 3 wires and would like to use it to the fullest.
I didn't understand how TBS smart audio works, do I need a DATA cable?
I tried to connect it (yellow cable) and enable TBS on settings.
all right? do you have advice?

then I want to know your PIDs Smile
