Hi,
The coil on my TS5828 broke - can anyone confirm if it was same 470uH in rev. 1.0 as in rev.1.1?

TS5828 - broken coil, can anyone confirm inductancy? |
24-Feb-2017, 10:12 AM Hi, The coil on my TS5828 broke - can anyone confirm if it was same 470uH in rev. 1.0 as in rev.1.1? 24-Feb-2017, 11:18 AM Yes. Same part. 22-Mar-2017, 10:18 PM Hmm, but isn't 4R7 a 4,7uH coil? While 470 being 470uH? 23-Mar-2017, 12:46 AM 23-Mar-2017, 10:49 AM (23-Mar-2017, 12:46 AM)Oscar Wrote: yes 4R7 is 4.7uH All right, so my TS5828 hade 470uH coil, while most of the pictures on the net have 4,7uH one. Weird enough. Can anyone tell what is the role of that coil? Is it a part of power supply filtering, or plays some other role? I'm not profficient enough with electronics to find it out myself.. And now I have bought both the 471 marked coil (which is supposed to have 470 uH inductancy) and 4,7uH and not sure with which to replace the original with. 23-Mar-2017, 12:47 PM Could be a part of a step-down converter, see schematic here: http://www.richtek.com/assets/product_fi...259-03.pdf 23-Mar-2017, 09:59 PM Hm, then the question is if maybe the issue Im encountering is not because of that coil shield cracked... I seem to have very weak signal when transmitter is next to receiver. Any move of one or another results in glitches... Checked the cabling etc. and it's all fine. I thought maybe that coil is the culprit? Or maybe its normal behaviour, reflected signal noise or something like that? How should TS5828 with RC832 behave when mounted on a des, 30 centimeters one to another? How stable signal should be? 24-Mar-2017, 09:10 AM The biggest problem when TX and RX are that close is that you can easily tune the receiver to any nearby channel and still get a signal. Seeing as this VTX is pushing out a whole 600mW, I'd say you need to be at least 10 metres away! The other problem with using such a powerful transmitter on the bench is that it will get very hot without air blowing over it all the time. If you've had it powered up for long periods without any air flow, you may even have cooked it. 24-Mar-2017, 11:33 PM I did actually noticed and read about that before, so I was using it with a fan on top of the added radiator. I will have to check how will it behave in real life situations when the motors arrive. Thanks! |
