Not really a PSA .. more like a FWIW..
Now, I consider myself reasonably "rounded and informed" regarding FPV and its inner workings... But its SH*T like this that causes frustration to new (and old) pilots....
Today I visited my wifes class "club" of middleschoolers, Ive got them using the sim, and once they become somewhat proficient... they fly the tinyhawks... Gotta say kids pick this up pretty fast...
I am (not sure how much longer) a big proponent of the EMAX RTF bundle for beginners. They are bound, on the correct VTX channel... charge the batteries, arm and your flying. Yes, the controller isnt the greatest, but they take a serious beating from these kids, havnt had one fail, just bent switches and one broken gimbal (from a drop). This was replaced with a BETAfpv gimbal for $5...and they offer Halleffect gimbals for $23... Fitment is ALMOST perfect, and plugs gotta be soldered.. not a big deal
TANGENT sorry.. as I was saying, as the kids were flying / crashing, one lost a prop. My wife hands me some new one I had just purchased...and they DONT FIT!!!! Apparenty, EMAX decided to change the tinyhawk III props EVER SO SLIGHTLY so they will NOT fit older tinyhawks... and they LOOK IDENTICAL . Now if you go to EMAXs site in the description it does say they will not fit older tinyhawks... but RDQ doesnt... You would think since they are different, it would be listed...
I know its BS but if your a new pilot, need props, and these are the only ones in stock... and you buy them thinking they will fit, because there is not size discrepancy (like 1mm vs 2mm).. you get them, and frustration ensues.
