TBS Unify Pro32HV antenna repair?
#1
Hey all,

Flying the other day had a simple run in with some tree branches and managed to pull out the antenna from my TBS Unify Pro 32 HV. How do I repair this? I can open up this sandwich stack, even after I take the tiniest Phillips head screws I’ve ever seen in my life, out, it still seems glued together. I’d imagine I’d probably need to solder it back together?

Kinda bummed this happened so quickly after buying this thing.

You will need to solder. Or get TBS to replace it.

I soldered it down. Hopefully I did it correctly and it holds. I also fastened my antenna more securely so fingers crossed this is the last time I break a vtx

So I took it out to the field only to power it all up and see only black in my video feed. -_-

I contacted TBS and they said I could send it back for a repair but they gave me the address for the literal factory in China... So i'd imagine that will be a 3 month round trip at the very least. Anyone else have any experience sending anything for repair in the US for TBS?

More on this subject for anyone possibly following. I talked to Mike Chin at TBS and pleaded my case and he agreed to a 50% discount on a reorder of a new vtx instead of shipping this tiny thing all over the world just to get a proper solder job done.

With that being said, anyone who wants to try and fix this thing that would do it just for the fun of it, i'll pay to ship it to you within the states if you just want an opportunity to mess around with an interesting repair job. It's trash to me unless it's fixed sooooo.

If you manage to fix it, i'll toss you a few bucks for your trouble and have you send it back to me. Idk.... Just a thought.
