Now for next ul build I'll use these motors with mono-blade props... • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 13 Joined: May 2021 Reputation: 0 26-Jun-2021, 07:33 PM (This post was last modified: 26-Jun-2021, 07:33 PM by droneduchess6677.) --__-- Mmm. Bummer. Super bummer. I was right on schedule to fly (read: probably fry another quad) today. I'm so glad I took a break to browse the forum. I've just been inspecting my 4 Tmotor BB V2 2207 1950Kv, batch 08, of course, and I'm wondering what these little glue-like spots are. Should that stuff be there? Is it possible it could damage the motor eventually? I haven't noticed it before on other motors, but I haven't looked for it either. • Posts: 21,241 Threads: 586 Likes Received: 8,958 in 6,629 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 (26-Jun-2021, 07:33 PM)droneduchess6677 Wrote: I'm wondering what these little glue-like spots are. Like balancing weights on the wheel of your car. They balance each motor at the factory and apply compound for extra weight on one side of the motor if and where needed. • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 13 Joined: May 2021 Reputation: 0 Thank you, Snow. As always, y'all are awesome. My bf suggested that, but we needed a second opinion. So the next logical step with the Tmotors is to contact the vendor (Race Day Quads in this case) & ask for a refund or rather, an exchange? Do you think the vendors will be aware of this issue soon, if not already? Anyone care to share your opinion on what motors I should check out this time around? • Posts: 21,241 Threads: 586 Likes Received: 8,958 in 6,629 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 (26-Jun-2021, 07:56 PM)droneduchess6677 Wrote: Thank you, Snow. Yes, I would definitely get rid of the Black Bird V2 motors otherwise you risk frying your ESC. I would hope that RDQ are aware of the issue. If not then point them to Damien Gans' Facebook posts on the issue. I don't like iFlight for their electronics (flight controllers and ESCs) but their Xing line of motors are fairly decent. The EMAX ECO II are another option where you are getting a $20+ motor for less than $15. People don't know how EMAX are making such a good motor for so little money. The Rcinpower GTS motors are also a good choice. The only sensible thing to do is to contact the vendor and get them returned for full refund. I assume you're already doing that. Make sure you also demand a full refund for any shipping you paid as well because this wasn't your fault. The vendor will then need to claim that money back from T-Motor. Yes sir! Got the shipping label from them today! • Posts: 46 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 10 in 8 posts Likes Given: 18 Joined: Nov 2020 Reputation: 0 I just switched a quad over to 6s and bought 4 tmotor f40 pro v4 1950kv. The very first flight I punched out was way up there and I thought I had a desync but nooooo one of the brandy new motors smoked itself. All the coils are black and melted. Geprc mark 4 hd bottom frame snapped in half on impact. Sucks for me • Posts: 122 Threads: 15 Likes Received: 3 in 1 posts Likes Given: 43 Joined: Mar 2021 Reputation: 0 (29-Jun-2021, 12:53 PM)Critterracing Wrote: I just switched a quad over to 6s and bought 4 tmotor f40 pro v4 1950kv. Better luck to you. • Posts: 82 Threads: 15 Likes Received: 10 in 10 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2020 Reputation: 1 So helpful as I’m looking for new motors and was looking at blackbird. THANK YOU! Anyone have experience with TBS Ethix Mr Steele stout v4? I passed on buying previous versions because i heard there were quality issues there too…any chance there’s a legacy company trending in the right direction out there? • Posts: 6,107 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,283 in 1,830 posts Likes Given: 4,733 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 100 07-Jul-2021, 09:47 AM (This post was last modified: 07-Jul-2021, 09:48 AM by hugnosed_bat.) the fairness about the product is high on an eco motor the emax ecos are decent good value. "mr steel" motors might be just motors from a company rebranded with ethix and more expensive... the most ethix products are a bit a scam in my eyes, mr steel doesnt have a production he just rebrand products. • Posts: 21,241 Threads: 586 Likes Received: 8,958 in 6,629 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 Not wishing to take anything away from Steele, but his (re)branded motors are overpriced "nothing special" motors IMO. You pay a premium for the "Ethix" logo and a custom paint colour. That is all. Just my own opinion of course. Tmotor velox are uninspiring, bh avengers are awesome. Three builds with the avengers now, running well.
