So have some questions, with more to come I'm sure, hehe. Sorry for the re-asking of a question or two here, but this will keep any answers organized for me to refer to in the future. I have a Taranis X9D+, non-2019 version, with an aftermarket 3S battery inside. I read that the input voltage range for the LITE is 3.5-13V, so I'm okay keeping the 3S battery, correct? If I'm running 1W or greater should I still use an external power source, or it will the 3S battery in the radio suffice? And if an external battery is needed, I need suggestions for those. Running high wattage will drain the TX battery fast. Even at 500mW running from the TX will eat the battery. If you don't want to field charge the TX battery or swap out TX batteries all the time, get a external battery. When you attach it to a TX kickstand it's very convenient. I have a 2000mAh battery for my external and I've never ran the battery low at 500mW with several hours of flying. If you think you may run at 1-2W a lot and fly most of the day, you may want to go bigger than 2000mAh. That's one of those things that you have to figure out from trial and error. A kickstand is one of THESE if you don't know what I'm talking about. Not recommending this one necessarily, just for info. With the True-Mox 915, it is placed in a vertical position, not flat, correct? Vertical polarization.... Yes, vertical polarization and not flat is vertical. Using TBS Agent, when plugged into a USB it says it doesn't recognize the device and asks me to update. I say yes, it says update finished, and I click okay, but then the screen comes back up and says device not recognized and asks to update. Click yes and the screen goes away. It shows the device under the name, but firmware version 1.08, but I read somewhere that there is/was a 1.13. Is this working correct? I checked the module with Agent, and firmware is up to date at 2.42. Correct? After all this I realized I had an old version of TBS Agent.... Correcting that now and hopefully everything can be update to the latest firmware versions. So, you're ok with updating or not? When using the "joystick" on the back of the LITE to change the RF power, if I select 1W or 2W it gives me a warning it might damage my remote. Do I just leave it at 500mW until I have an external battery? And speaking of this battery, is there a preferred "C" rating? Deal Here's the Deal

I'll try again.... On Oscar's blog he wired the non-diversity Crossfire Nano Rx with just four wires. There are a lot more options with the Diversity model. Do I use those same instructions, but add additional wires between the Diversity Nano and the Unify Pro32(ch3 and ch4)? Crossfire Receiver (CRSF TX)→Unify PRO32 (CRSF RX) and Crossfire Receiver (CRSF RX)←Unify PRO32 (CRSF TX) is stated in the Pro32 manual. How/Where do I wire the backup battery connection on the Diversity Nano to? Is there any other benefit to powering and grounding the FPV camera through the Unify Pro32 other than freeing up pads on the FC? Wow, Crossfire can be a little daunting, but I believe it will be worth it in the end. Deal Here's the Deal

If you wire the Unify to the FC, then you can only change VTX settings through OpenTX Lua Script and the BF CMS menu. Some people say the powering the camera through the VTX provides cleaner video due to common ground and extra power filtering by the VTX. • Posts: 863 Threads: 43 Likes Received: 286 in 202 posts Likes Given: 12 Joined: Nov 2018 Reputation: 5 Thanks. I found this video on YouTube. At around the 10:00 mark he talks about it. Apparently you have to provide a 1S battery and wire it directly to the RX. The issue I have with this is that the battery would always have a charge on it. So you'd be keeping a 1S battery in various states of charge on you quad at all times.... You'd think they could have came up with something similar to how the buzzers with their own batteries. Maybe that's in the works for the future, hehe. Deal Here's the Deal

But that is just me. All the other stuff is mediocre at best, and completely worthless typically. A buzzer is almost worthless on a LR platform. And this system with the Diversity Nano is a hassle to do correctly like Deal mentions. MP is a bit costly at 250.00, but recovering a lost quad will have it pay for itself double. With a range of a 2 mile radius, if you can't tell where you went down within 2 miles, well your situational awareness sucks. But I understand why 250.00 is a tough pill for some to swallow. So far as I know, MP has been 100% in recoveries by those I know have used it. And it is almost zero hassle to use. But if you fly with the Diversity Nano you won't need a separate battery if you fly with Velcro or 3M dual lock, you will NEVER eject a battery. Umagrip, well....you may want to check prices on a 1S battery. • |
