Is this a good setup for the beginner?

Thanks, everyone.
There is no FPV camera on the Blade.  Blade also use DSMX for radio protocol.  If you buy a Taranis, you will have to buy a Spektrum radio module to be able to control this.  Small quads are not necessary easier to fly than a 5".

With the FatSharks (if you are buying one with RX bay), you need to also buy a VRX module. The most common for mini race quad FPV is a 5.8Ghz. The two modules that are highly rated is the La Forge and Furious FPV.

I would do a little research before you set on one. Honestly, you probably can't go wrong either way.

Now that you are set on 5.8Ghz for video, we can look at quad the have 5.8Ghz VTX. I think brushless nano or micro quad is the way to go. Brushed motor quads are kind of a pain. If you much insist on brushed, a Tiny Whoop or clone is what I would probably buy. If you want to fly indoors, I recommend props guard.

As for brushless quads, the smallest quads I have is the Lady Owl (you have to build) and the Emax Baby Hawk (BNF). I don't have much experience with anything smaller. I know that 0705 or 0706 brushless motors are available. So you can really get small brushless quad these days.

Be careful on the furious fpv module if that's the one you choose. There are a ton of clones and they aren't all great.

If you do seek out a tinywhoop or similar be careful of receiver protocol. Many of them are DSM/spectrum.

Not to overdo the diatone hype (most of my diatone stuff has been pretty good so I trust them) but the little makefire has captured my attention as far as brushed micros go. I'll probably buy myself on for Xmas lol

Depending on what your glasses are, you may or may not need corrective lenses on the Fatshark or similar goggles. Certainly, if you only need reading glasses, then you don't need any correction to use Fatshark goggles.

If, on the other hand, you are short sighted, then you'll need corrective lenses. If the standard choice of -2, -4 and -6 doesn't cover your needs, there is a company which will make you prescription lenses for your Fatsharks and can provide correction with a much larger range and correct for astigmatism as well.

I think there are a lot of better possibilities in the market if you want to enjoy Fpv.
Look into Banggood or Gearbest and search microbrushed fpv quads with micro fpv camera and betaflight compatible FC. Then, if you are going on the cheap side, buy a Flysky i6 and search a micro with flysky receiver.
Other option is to build it. Its easy and you dont need soldering skills. Motores usually plug directly on FC and camera too.
You can find easily spare partes and fun never will ends.

Ok. I think I am ready to shop.

So, here is my set up.

FrSky Taranis Q X7

Fat Shark FSV1063 Dominator V3

VTX Transmitter

VRX Module

So, can you please, tell me if this combination would work?

Also, which ready to go drone should I buy?

Thanks, guys you were fantastic.

Remember batteries for taranis. Your link to Fatshark is wrong.

I would go with different VTX. Something that has Smartaudio. The Raceday quad Mach 2. Best bang for the money.

TBS unify, Tramp or AXX are great too.

I know some will disagree with me, but for the price and ease of use and installation, Furious FPV 3.6 diversity VRX. LaForge is just as good, but mod to get diversity and $30 more. I had no problem so far with Furious.

I would agree with getting a different VTx, and something cheaper is a good idea too (Mach 2 is closer to the price range I'd go for)

I don't really know either VRx, but I can tell you... do avoid the cheapy clones on that... mine not only doesn't receive signal as well as it should but it constantly falls out because it didn't come with a proper cover for it.

I agree about getting the Mach 2 as your VTX. It's got lots of features and quite affordable.
I would have said the AKK because they are quite cheap, but since they are actually a clone of the Mach 2 VTX and using SmartAudio without license I cannot recommend them anymore.

Ok, guys. Perhaps a bit rashly, but I ordered a quad and the box goggles (to start).

Goggles:

Quad:

Can you, PLEASE, tell me if the transmitter FrSky Taranis Q X7 would work with this setup? I have not bought it just yet. I suspect it would but just want to make sure.

The short answer is yes it is compatible with Frsky. Quad doesn't come with a RX, so you buy whatever and hook it up. As far as quad goes, it is a little dated. Running Cleanflight and oneshot. Probably won't make a difference though. Little under power to only have 12A ESCs. Price, too high.
