I have just been made aware that I have won first prize in the "I love drones" photographic contest which is a bit ironic because at the present moment I certainly do not love drones. They are driving me mad!!!
Hey KK. Here is a post on Oscars blog about soft mounting FC and Motors. I am not sure if it's advisable with the size of the motors on IT, and Oscar's concern over motor screws vibrating loose due to the 'hand tight' nature of soft mounting... Or even if there are vibration damping measures for motors as large as the ones used by IT?
I'm one of those people who try to make use of what is lying around, I thought that a couple of layers of inner-tube rubber cut to size, maybe even add a layer or 2 between the heads of the motor screws and the arms, add washers to ensure the rubber doesn't just slip over the screw heads, might help.
I just found this old vid detailing a very simple way to diagnose and fix motor vibrations.
Do any of you lads have any helpful tips on vibration reduction, balancing props, balancing motors?
I balanced the motors on my 450 a while back using an iphone and an app called Vibration. (I think you can also use an android app.)
Anyway, this video is pretty old, but it's the one I followed:
NOTE: Be sure the tape you use is sticky enough that it won't fling off at high RPM. Can even go back and CA it after you're sure it's in the right spot (except that also can change the balance a bit).

Let us know how it goes...
Thanks BD, they were a big help. I had heard about the cable tie trick but had no idea how to measure results. I will mull over all of this over the coming days and get back to you.

Thanks Slo, long but well worth watching.
So thanks a lot lads. I really appreciate your help.
