Thanks Mc, I am glad you enjoy my tales.

I do worry about getting so far off topic but since nobody has ever complained (quite the contrary) I feel justified in carrying on as usual.

So Mc, you and Unseen are the winners. No. 13 it is.

Just a humble middle man holding somebody else's feet.

Nice try BD. You win the prize for the most poetic attempt.

So I guess I had better get back on topic.

Vibration reduction ......UGH!!   Angry

Work is crawling along but I will have some photos later today.

Keep those compliments coming in. I love them!   Tongue

KK.

Before getting back on topic how is this for a very novel use of R/C technology?

The photo is of me and Bubbles the robot, my tireless companion on the political campaign trail.

Bubbles was fitted with a mixing speed control for traction and steering, a tape player to provide music and a radio microphone to blast my message hope out into the atmosphere.

Nobody had ever seen anything like it before (or since). We were in opposition and the leader of the opposition called me incorrigible, the Government side said I was a "weird one".

As a newbie candidate I stunned everybody by getting newspaper interviews and once appeared on a TV talk show. With Bubbles of course.

It was all very exciting and I loved it. Even if my score ended up TRIES = 4; SUCCESSES = 0; but at least I did come close (400 votes once).

Whatever I did I tried to do it in style.   Cool

OK now back to business.

The photo show the latest approach to minimising vibration.

A double layer of sponge tape with the screws removed from the pylon.

I have reduced the level overall from  about 6 to 3 I am just not happy about the way the vibration monitor works.

I think I might have the phone in the wrong position. The reading is dancing all over the place which makes hard to get an accurate reading.

I tried some sponge tape under the phone and that seemed to makes things worse. I will try with the phone in different locations tomorrow.

I am finding this whole thing a bit frustrating.   Cry

BD I have a confession to make.

I rather suspect that you and I are talking about two different X wings.

I have come to believe that you are talking about the X wing fighter in Star Wars. Is this correct?

I was talking about the Google X flying wing.

Does this mean I lose my Diety status?

Oh the indignity of it all!   Whistling

LOL! Guilty as charged! I was talking about Star Wars, but I won't stop singing your praises. Maybe I will scratch that hymn I was working on though!

Oh Dear!!

With your poetic turn of mind I am sure it would have been fabulous.

Are you sure I cannot convince you to carry on? Sad

Down on the farm  for a bit of R & R.

Sadly no Wooden It as the vibration minimisation work is not yet complete.

HOWEVER, I am not missing anything as we have 100kph winds here at the moment.   Confused

Not a good flying season down here.

OK Boys,

I'mmmmmmmmmmm bbbbbbaaaaaaaaccccckkkkkkkk!!  Rolleyes

Test flying recommenced tonight in the backyard and all went well.

Gain settings Pitch =  140; Roll = 150; Yaw = 100.

Hover seemed much improved but in the tiny area it is hard to tell exactly.

All will be revealed tomorrow when I hit the farm for the big test.

Fingers crossed.

Whooppee!!   Big Grin   Tongue  Dodgy

The wind dropped just on sunset and I shot out of that farmhouse door like a rocket.

Had the best flight ever.

For the first time I felt that the FC was doing more to control Wooden It than I was.

To prove that, I kept landing back on the launch pad. (Quite by accident actually but that did happen). The last landing was right on the pad and on its feet which bowled me over completely. Not one upside down touch down in the whole flight.

A giant leap forward. All that vibration work seems to be paying dividends.  Smile

What will tomorrow bring I wonder?

I think another promotion is in order;

The following morning............daybreak.

Gentle breeze but you can feel the urgency just waiting to hit us with the full bit. Heavy winds predicted for the next two days.

Put old Wooden It through its paces and kept accidently landing back on the launch pad.

I seem to be making progress both in setting up the quad and my flying. Rolleyes

Now I need to come to grips with fine tuning the Naza M.

I have attached a data graph from Motor 1 for your interest.
