2 My Turnigy 9xr was plug-and-play, worked perfect.
The Taranis QX7 I've switched to doesn't work right. I use FPV Freerider, and the TX is recognized. I set up a brand new model, turned off Internal RX, etc.
However, when I go to calibrate, all of the controls are registered, but they aren't working correct.
Example:
Throttle. The correct stick and axis is recognized, but if the throttle is at 0, it shows up in the sim as full throttle. As I move it up to about a quarter, it suddenly jumps down to 0 in the sim. Then if I move it toward max, it reaches max in the sim by just over half on the actual stick.
Stick 0 = sim 100
Stick 1/4th = sim 0
Stick 1/2 = sim 100
The other sticks have issues as well, some similar others different. For example the Roll will only register when moving right.
I have tried modifying settings in the TX and different settings have different effects, but none of them solve the problems just reduce them or introduce a different problem.

0 The settings actually seem to work and calibrate nicely in Velocidrone, but I'm having the same exact problem with FPV Freerider. I've even attempted using the x9d sim settings with no luck (50% threshold, curve). Any luck getting it to work?

0 26-Jun-2017, 12:30 PM (This post was last modified: 26-Jun-2017, 12:31 PM by t3rminal.) I've used my Q X7 with both FPV Freerider and LiftOff and found it plug and play through a mini USB cable. No issues or complaints from me so far.

31 26-Jun-2017, 12:36 PM (This post was last modified: 26-Jun-2017, 12:39 PM by Carl.Vegas.) Liftoff and FPV freerider only use the top half of the inputs. In the Mixer you have to set your weight to 50% and offset to 50. I am almost certain that this will fix the problem since I see very similar behavior when I forget to change models on my radio.
Here is a video to help show how to do it:
Edit: Just noticed this is an old thread. Thanks t3rminal for digging it up, since it didn't have an answer no one could really get help from it before but now hopefully it'll be helpful to someone. Also Welcome to intoFPV!

0 I found this forum and thread searching as I have an issue getting my Taranis Q X7 working in Freerider on OSX. I had already setup the Q X7 as per the video when I discovered this thread. I do have things working in Liftoff but I wanted to try Freerider.
Here's what happens when I do the setup in FR - most of the controls are inverted and not centered and way off scale. I can fix all of that in the config screen so things are setup properly. I click OK and then go to the desert sim (free version to test). When I lift off initially, the quad flips (rolls left). However, if I just slightly bump roll, then that doesn't happen again. However other odd things happen. And I have to go through the above manual setup and adjustment process everytime I restart. Is this normal or does the paid version save the config settings?
Cheers,
Michael

31 Welcome to the forum Michael! I am glad you found us and I hope you'll stick around.
Could you upload a screenshot of the config screen? I'll compare it to my config screen to see if there is anything strange going on. I can't promise that I'll figure anything out but who knows
