Flywoo explorer
#16
I got mine the other day. I configured everything in Betaflight and had no problems. I also double checked the wiring. I guess they corrected the wiring mistake a lot of people have been having. With my version I had no problems. I took it out last weekend and flew a few packs as a test flight. It flies great and is nice and peppy. I only took in out a kilometer because I was testing my GPS failsafe switch and battery time on some 650mah batteries (sub 250g). It worked like a charm. I am using a ... *cough* R9M module at 868MHz.

Next weekend, if the weather is decent, I want to try a long distance/endurance test with a homemade 18650 pack.

Nice. What kinda flight times did you get out of the 650mAh (presumably 4S) packs?

Congrats. Nuxnik what version of betaflight are you running ? Mine is one of the earlier releases it has no outta of the box issues however the vista unit is wired to Soft serial I added the rx but decided to see how it flew before I swapped things around however I eventually will only because that voice in the back of my head keeps saying pssht your only running bf 4.1 phhst but hey 1k that's pretty good I'm not sure if my crossfire micro TX v.1 Will go much further than 800meters I think that's the biggest fear that stops me almost from take off my rssi in the dji goggles starts bouncing around from 99 down in the 80s and I hear that's not a good place to be I haven't been getting any audible warnings tho except one that says and I quote 'sensor lost " I didn't set that up so I have know idea which sensor she is referring to I assume it's the GPS I did have rssi warnings with my 6s basher same model on the taranis i just binded to the new one so I know she's in there waiting to tell me im pushing my luck

Does the flywoo explorer take special props ? Because I got some extra props with mine I'm not sure that they came with it they feel heavier then the gray props these are. 4024 1.5mm not sure what the original gray props were appearance wise they look the same (except color) but I have pretty sensitive hands and I have a feeling the blue are slightly heavier then the gray and after a short test flight I have to agree with my hands since I do not have a scale

The Flywoo Explorer has T-Mount motors so any T-Mount props will work and fit any T-Mount motors.

If you have props with a 5mm shaft {big hole} then those will not work with T-Mount motors.

1.5mm sorry thanks I wasn't sure if they took a special light weight prop or not I think that the bag carrying the original props had ultralight in the description thats why I asked I can't seem to find that bag now tho

Hi Joey,

As long as they are all T-Mount props, it really doesn't matter. In fact, I use a variety of props just to see the difference. To tell you the truth there is actually very little difference when cruising around like I {and you} do. The bi-blades seem to be a little more efficient {longer fly time} while the tri-blades seem to respond a little better in maneuvers. Yeah, then there is the pitch; lower pitch, more efficient {generally}; higher pitch more responsive. But hey, I am no racer and don't do very much acro; so, if it flies well and I get decent Fly Time, then I am satisfied.

Even though I am interested in getting the longest Fly Time, sometimes I will throw on a 3s 650 mAh and just play around; maybe even a flip or roll if I am feeling a little adventurous.  Wink

Also, I have some motors with 2mm prop shafts. For these, I just drill out the center hole; precision doesn't matter since I screw them on anyway. Some might say that it effects the balance, but I can't tell the difference.  I gave up on press fitting my props a long time ago.

Most of my 4 inch props are HQProp or Gemfan bi-blades. I do have some tri-blades that I will try, just haven't gotten there yet  Rolleyes

I got about 3.5/4 minute flights on the 650s - yes, they are 4S. I was being kind to my batteries seeing I only flew them down to  ca. 14.8 Volts each. For the most part, my flight style was cruising with some intermittent acro.

Hi nuxnik,

You will get better Fly Time with a 3S 1100 mAh battery than the 4S 650 mAh for about the same weight.

Fly time is less cells and more mAh at the expense of top end performance.
Performance is more cells and less mAh at the expense of efficiency.
