Does it even communicate with the FC? • Posts: 21,317 Threads: 590 Likes Received: 8,997 in 6,660 posts Likes Given: 1,426 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 790 Unfortunately I don't know any more details other than what is in the two links of the original post. Keep in mind that this particular one is designed specifically for the Czech market but it gives some idea and an insight about what we can probably expect to see for the USA Remote ID hardware implementation. • Posts: 437 Threads: 63 Likes Received: 93 in 70 posts Likes Given: 26 Joined: Jul 2017 Reputation: 1 23-Feb-2022, 02:12 PM (This post was last modified: 23-Feb-2022, 02:13 PM by klnyc.) That's like size of my Canon DSLR camera battery • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Feb 2022 Reputation: 0 Hello guys, Co-founder of Dronetag here. Regarding the data we are broadcasting and sending to our cloud, we comply with both ASTM F3411 and ASD-STAN prEN 4709-002 standards. Briefly, GNSS position, accuracies, speeds, heading, altitude pressure, LTE signal, number of satellites, etc. Check out which data are available by this open-source app to see the complete list https://github.com/opendroneid/receiver-android I agree that it might seem quite big for small hobby drones, but please keep in mind that this is a completely independent solution with everything inside (LTE connectivity, antennas, battery, etc.) We tried to make the Mini future proof, that's why we went with the cellular connection onboard. However, we are about to release Dronetag Beacon soon that will be half the size and weight. If you are interested I will keep you posted about the details. In the meantime, you can check our public documentation for Mini here https://help.dronetag.cz/ Lukas • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 Not gonna lie ... good roninUAV advertising. NO WAY. I don't want to register anything, I don't want to broadcast any information, and I don't want a Part 107 pilot's license. I intend to stay in the Category 1 {sub-250} lane, stay small and stealthy, and avoid as many people as possible. Even if I wanted to attach it, most of what I fly is a homemade 3". There's no room left on that sucker and it's already 280 grams. Gonna have to half my battery capacity just to comply. Furthermore, that thing costs more than any quad I currently own. I can't justify adding nearly $300 to everything I put together. • Posts: 21,317 Threads: 590 Likes Received: 8,997 in 6,660 posts Likes Given: 1,426 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 790 (31-Jul-2022, 07:53 PM)Suros Wrote: Even if I wanted to attach it, most of what I fly is a homemade 3". They probably know full well that on most FPV quads it will be impractical to install a Remote ID module which would then make a 251g quad fly like crap with a module that adds a 5th more weight. The FAA are trying to kill the hobby in order to try and clear the airspace for commercial drone flights which will make them money. It's as simple as that. • Posts: 5,907 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,786 in 2,248 posts Likes Given: 7,693 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 (31-Jul-2022, 09:44 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: The FAA don't care. Yeah, I agree, I think that they want to clear the airspace or at least make it so that the commercial drones can detect other drones...for avoidance...well maybe...???? They also want to try to track that idiot that does something stupid like try to short out a power plant, drop a bomb, fly in restricted airspace, or something else that is just dumb. The practical effect is to ... 1) Drive the hobbyist to the Category 1 {sub-250 gram} quads. 2) Make outlaws out of the renegades who fly a "heavy" quad without Remote ID. "F" the regulations, fly what they want to. As pointed out, enforcement might just be a nightmare and d*mn near impossible, but hey...there it is. Now, let's consider this to be a structure we are building. Well, first you have to lay the foundation. You need something to build upon. Or...something that can be enforced when needed. Now, you also implement this over time so that no one can say that they didn't know...or...that you blindsided them. Guys, this is just one step and likely NOT the last. If someone wants to get brave, let them violate the regulations, get caught, and take them to court. Any takers. Certainly not me. I want to avoid this whole mess, stay under the radar, stay out of the way, and just have a little fun. Personally, I don't care if it needs to be something small, light weight, and stealthy. I just want to have a little fun without any hassles. Obviously posted as a joke (in case people who don't understand jokes are present or have no common sense). Short Range EMP for downing those damned amazon drones. Who thinks they won't just deliver packages? They will surveil everything around them as they fly around and sell that info to anyone who wants it. There's a couple of YT vids on how to do it with a microwave and a parabolic dish, if you search in the (high energy physics) areas, ie, the places where people make railguns and laser weapons.
