ExpressLRS Configurator update released 1.4.1
#16
Flashing to opentx has its benefits. I bought a jumper t-lite with a recent release of opentx. Moving models over to it was a matter of plugging in the t16 to the pc. Clicking read models then plugging in the t-lite and clicking write models.
The videos make this much more complicated then they need to. If you have a card reader pull the sd card and delete it. Download the new sd card contents to it. Add the radio firmware to the firmware folder. With the sd card re-installed hold the two trims while powering up. Then follow the directions on the screen, write firmware, select the firmware (if you have more than 1) press ok. Done.
Elrs is less complicated than frsky with happymodel gear. Probably less complicated to swap frsky gear over to Elrs than deal with inverted half duplex etc. Download the Elrs confogurator and you'll see it has all of 6 drop down options and a build and flash button. The days of doing it through vscode and modifying script have already past.

Hi Steve,

The way you put it, does sound easier than what I have seen.
Thank You for explaining it this way.
Much appreciated.

No problem.
I just went through this last night with a happymodel 2.4 rx/tx that I just purchased. I watched about 2 hours of tutorials first but it only took about 1/2 hour lol.
The opentx tutorials are not first time friendly. Opentx companion is very handy when you learn to use it but that should be another video for people that have it installed and want to learn more. Much like teaching pid tuning to a first time flyer, why put that on them right away.

i need to update my radio, would the latest version of edgetx work with elrs?

@ifly4rotors
"I am running the original Jumper TX that came on my original Jumper T16. At this point, I have no intentions of changing that"

i have a reason for another firmware for you :-) edgetx would let you use the touchscreen on your t16 :-)

Yes, EdgeTX works perfectly with ELRS. Definitely check it out!

I have been told that I am too old to get presents. So I always buy presents for myself.  Cry

someone inhere builded his own module too?
what differences are there between a happymodel module, im not sure if i can just get 250hz out of it, not sure if its a question of software support or module itself or if i am wrong.
i have to hang inthere; github im coming for you :-)

Actually that does amaze me.

Based on the parts required at their github page you need about $20 worth of parts and a printed case to cobble together an ELRS TX module.

its that inexpensive, it doesnt make sense to buy just one piece of each component, for the case of a building fail :-) my buddy ordered more than one of each component, so thats the way i got mine xD
